6 Lifestyle Trends That Lead To Deadly Diseases

There is no question about lifestyle disorders leading to chronic diseases. We know what are the causes of these disorders, but we never take it seriously.

I have noticed a lot of lifestyle issues inside my classroom, gym and even inside myself. These lifestyle disorders eventually lead to many of these diseases.

To be honest, I was surprised when I looked into juvenile behavioral disorders that might lead to future lifestyle disorders. Even kids are not safe from these lifestyle diseases. And the sad thing is that we can avoid all this.

1. Juvenile delinquency: This is something that I never thought about including in this post. I decided to include this topic when I saw a kid smoking a cigarette in front of our neighborhood. Then I researched about how teenage delinquency leads to diseases in the future.

It turned out that more than 3,000 children smoke everyday and these smokers are more likely to use alcohol as well. If you ask me, that’s too much. When I say that these kids are likely to use cocaine, do you think that I am being over excited about the topic?

2. Alcohol and drug abuse: I think we could agree with the fact that most alcoholics and drug abusers are prone to more than two or three diseases. For one thing, alcohol consumption could result in a lot of problems including liver diseases.

Drugs are like those quick-sand pits. Those agents that distribute the drugs make an initial investment and let the victim do the rest. The agent will start out by giving small samples and the victim will buy them for the rest of his natural life.

3. Sedentary life: Do I even have to explain this? The more you sit behind a desk without thinking about some cardio, the more likely you are going to develop cardiovascular diseases. I do not have to mention diabetes, cholesterol and high blood pressure, do I?

The easy way to get through life is to sit down and look at a monitor for ten years. What we forget is that this lifestyle would lead to a miserable, excruciatingly painful life. You always have a choice to live a happy life instead of a miserable one.

4. The generation of ‘insomniacs’: The new generation lives in the night time. I think I belong to that life as well. The only difference is that I put my health before my pleasure. There is no way I’d forget to workout everyday. We forget that proper rest is more important than the workout itself.

A minimum of seven hours of sleep is a must for me. Does it surprise you when I say that most kids I know sleep no less than 3-4 hours a day? Of course, their parents believe that those kids are asleep.

Anyway, this new trend creates a zombie look when they come to class. Also, latest studies show that this lifestyle leads to depression and high blood pressure.

I used the word “generation” because most kids, including me are tempted to lose sleep over TV shows and late night movies. Still, would it hurt to have some control over these temptations?

5. Staying out-of-date: Most people do not consider staying up-to-date in the health field is important to live a healthy life. This ignorance leads to vulnerability to a lot of diseases.

We never know what sort of epidemic is going to break out at any given moment. The only way you can stay ahead of this is to stay up-to-date. I subscribe to blogs, communities, text messaging and good health magazines to stay updated.

I believe in this principle. Many of my friends went out and ate food from open restaurants when our government warned about a deadly fever going around. They survived it, but they had to go through a lot of misery.
 
6. Media and lifestyle: I think that the new media era has taken its toll on our health. How many of us are capable of overcoming the temptation of all those juicy ads. It’s overwhelming!
 
We are being bombarded with advertisements and wrong lifestyle-models in newspapers, TV and internet. Even our sense of healthy living revolve around dietary supplements. 
 
A life of easiness would always lead to major lifestyle disorders. And I only scratched the surface now. There are more reasons to why our world is so full of lifestyle diseases. Many of them are simple, avoidable ones. The problem is that we just ignore them.
