Marriage problems can put children under stress

I know this topic like the back of my hand because I have been through it too. Even nine month old kids are affected by a parent’s relationship. I could still remember how one of my neighbor’s kids screamed because of the family problems they had.

I used to be late to school because of those sleep problems that I had. When I was a kid, I used to see how my parents quarrel over things that I do not understand. At that time, I developed a sort of intentional insomnia. I used to see movies and I couldn’t get these family problems out of my head.

I was glad that it worked out okay between my parents. After sometime. everything went back to normal. The child is affected by a parent’s marital instability because of the stress involved. These kids develop and regulate a sleep pattern that reflects the impact of family stress.

When psychologists say that kids are affected by their parent’s marital stability, do not just ignore it. An overwhelming majority of parents still quarrel in front of their kids, thinking that these kids do not have the ability to understand what is going on.

Researchers found out that marital instability in parents, even when a child is 9 months old, can cause sleep problems in youngsters. The effects of such a childhood might affect the kid for the rest of their lives. I think that my insomnia was the result of such problems.

There is a need to separate individual issues from children. There should be a certain limit to how much a child is exposed to the family stress and parents’ marriage problems. There is an age and a place for everything.
