Back pain has always been a common health predicament. It may not be the most extreme medical condition, but it can bring a whole lot of frustration and discomfort to patients. Because the causes for such pain greatly vary, doctors may not always pinpoint a single back pain relief and treatment. The website recently shared a story of how the hunger for information helped a man triumphed over a battle against back pain.

Since its launching, continuously provided free information for the public to use in understanding their back pain conditions better. Jerry Reynolds of Charlotte, North Carolina is one of the proactive people that grabbed this opportunity when he stumbled upon  Reynolds, who is already 46 years old, had been struggling with intermittent back aches for almost a year.

Reynolds related: “I didn’t really know what to do. My family doctor told me to see different specialists. But I didn’t have the time and money to see all those specialists.”

“Then one day, I just decided to browse through the internet and I was happy that guided me to the right direction,” he added.

Reynolds initially thought that his back pain was due to muscle fatigue and stress. He hoped that taking a rest would make the pain disappear, but this wasn’t the case.  By becoming an avid follower of the website, Reynolds was able to gain more information on the other causes of back pains.

It was later found out he had a herniated disc condition, which means that that an intervertebral disc located in his lower back was ruptured. One important section of the website discusses the various options for treating herniated discs. Reynolds chose to have physical therapy sessions as an initial treatment after having read its benefits.

James Winston co-founder of, provided further explanation on how adequate information is an important factor for curing back pain. Winston shared that “oftentimes, back pain is very hard to treat and some people simply don’t have enough financial resources to engage into a trial-and-error phase with various medical experts.”

At present, most medical experts agree that there is no standard care for patient suffering from lumbar herniated disc and other back conditions. According to Winston, back pain relief and full recovery are only possible if the patient is fully aware of what’s causing the pain in the first place. He said: “People don’t realize that simply researching more about their health problems provides a window of opportunity that leads them closer to the cure.”
