Vaginal Plastic Surgery Rising, Studies Reveal

Plastic surgery is such a popular medical field, there’s no denying to that fact. Although more men are undergoing these procedures, most of the patients going under the knife are still women. According to the data presented by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, among the most sought of procedures women usually undergo are breast augmentations, liposuctions, tummy tuck, breast lifts and eye lid surgery.

Every year, thousands of women are undergoing vaginal reshaping every single year according to Reuters. These procedures may include surgical tightening, shaping of the labia and G-spot amplification with the use of fillers. “Some women complain that they no longer feel stimulated during sex,” Says one particular surgeon. “But others come to us (doctors) because they feel that their genitalia isn’t attractive as it was or as what they’ve seen on television or in the internet.”

“Women come to me and say they don’t have the urge to have sex anymore because they don’t feel anything,” says another plastic surgeon who’s already doing gynecological surgery for a couple of decades. “I guarantee that if a man didn’t feel anything, he wouldn’t have sex either.”

Some surgeons, especially the board-certified ones are actually wary of the procedure. They say that it’s still not proven to help with the stimulation and it could actually cause negative side effects. Some of the risk involved is scarring and loss of sensation and the main problem is that some women have unrealistic expectations with regards to what they really should look like.
