M.D. Says Iodine can Prevent and Even Treat Breast Cancer

Large organizations, bedfellows to Big Pharma, would have you think the best way to fight breast cancer is by “early detection” and then traditional treatments that can do more harm than good. Lately, they’ve added genetic testing and breast removal to their M.O. But, they rarely give any heed to prevention. Wouldn’t the best way to fight breast cancer (or any illness) be to prevent it before it happens? Some say iodine is the key to breast cancer prevention, and the only reason the medical establishment shuns it is because it can’t be patented and profited from.

Jeffrey Dach, M.D. says iodine supplementation is the best way to prevent (and even treat) breast cancer. He says the recommended daily allowance for iodine, currently set at 150 mcg, is too low. Instead, he and Dr. Guy Abraham recommend a daily intake about 100 times that, at 12.5 mcg, which incidentally is the average intake in Japan, where breast, thyroid, and prostate cancer rates are dramatically lower.

Even the federal government recommends supplementing with iodine in the case of a radiation emergency in order to prevent thyroid cancer.

Iodine was added to salt in the U.S. in 1924 to help prevent goiter (a disease caused by iodine deficiency). But as people have moved away from salt overtime, the iodine intake has plummeted. Even with iodized salt consumption, Dr. Dach says we wouldn’t be getting enough. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates about 15% of U.S. women are iodine deficient, and because it would take a significant amount to reach proper levels, it doesn’t make sense to supplement with salt.

Instead, there are several iodine supplements on the market. Dach recommends one under the brand name Iodoral. Other recommended iodine supplements include Transformative Nano-Colloidal Detoxified Iodine, Nascent Iodine, Lugol’s Solution Iodine, and Potassium Iodine. While there are studies backing Dach’s claims that iodine can stop breast cancer by producing an anti-estrogen effect, mainstream medicine says it is potentially harmful to supplement with the element. This is likely driven by the fact that doctors and Big Pharma don’t have a stake in iodine supplements—they can’t make money off it.

Iodine is essential for your overall wellbeing. The common nutritional deficiency behind most hypothyroidism and sluggish thyroid activity is insufficient iodine.
