Thyroid disease: Thyroid adenoma - The symptoms

Norton for The Better of Living & Living Health Thyroid is one of the largest endocrine glands found in the neck, below the Adam’s Apple with the function of regulating the body use of energy, make of proteins by producing its hormones as a result of the stimulation of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) produced by the anterior pituitary.
Thyroid disease is defined as a condition of malfunction of thyroid.
Thyroid adenoma is a benign tumor started in the layer of cell lined the inner surface of the thyroid gland. The disease are relatively common among adults living in the United States. According to the study by the Mayo Clinic and Mayo Foundation, there is a report of 4 patients described in whom a follicular carcinoma developed following thyroidectomy for a benign follicular neoplasm.
A. Symptoms
Most people with Thyroid adenoma are experience any symptoms, but the common symptoms if the tumor has been growth large enough to interfere the function of nearby cells or organs if it is a functional tumor, producing excessive thyroid hormone to cause hyperthyroidism include
1. Difficulty breathing and swallowing
If the tumor is growth large enough to interfere with breathing of the lung such as partial blocking the air way or the food passing to the pharynx.
2. Voice changes
If the tumor is growth large enough to interfere with the voice box
3. Neck pain
If the tumor is growth large enough to suppress the nerve cell in the neck

If hyperthyroidism is presented 
4.  Hypertension
Hyperthyroidism is associated with unpleasant symptoms and hypertension due to increased adrenergic tone, according to the study by the Harran University Faculty of Medicine(1).

5. Tachycardia, fatigue, and weight loss, hyperactive reflexes, increased sweating, heat intolerance, tremor, nervousness, polydipsia, and increased appetite, anorexia,  atrial fibrillation and goiter
Depending to the age of the patients with Thyroid adenoma with the presence of hyperthyroidism may be experience certain above symptoms, according to the study by the Centre Hospitalier et Universitaire de Rouen, in the study to determine if aging modifies the clinical presentation of hyperthyroidism and the signs of thyrotoxicosis in older people(2).

If  thyroid adenoma is presented in people who have Hashimoto’s disease
