Thyroid disease is defined as a condition of malfunction of thyroid. Hyperthyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland is over active and produces too much thyroid hormones. Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland is under active and produces very little thyroid hormones. Thyroid cancer is defined as condition in which the cells in the thyroid gland have become cancerous.
C.2. Diseases associated to Thyroid lymphoma
1. Hashimoto’s thyroiditis
Thyroid lymphoma occurred exclusively in the thyroid gland of patients with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis as a rapidly growing mass in the thyroid gland. Therefore, progressively enlarging goiter and compression symptoms were the most common clinical manifestations.  Asignificant number of patients in the series had subclinical hypothyroidism (14%) or overt hypothyroidism (27%) because of the coexistence of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis(15).

2. Other diseases
In a retrospectively analyzed 26 patients with thyroid lymphoma (TL). Patients were mostly females, with a median age of 59 yr, presenting a rapidly growing nodular goiter with or without cervical adenopathy, without symptoms related to lymphoma for 81% and hypothyroidism in 61%, showed that in a observation of previous history of Hashimoto thyroiditis in 11 patients, six different subtypes of lymphoma were observed: 13 of 26 (50%) had diffuse large B cell lymphoma, 6 (23%) mucosa- associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma, 3 (12%) had follicular lymphoma, 2 (7%) had Hodgkin’s disease, 1 (4%) had small lymphocytic lymphoma, and 1 (4%) had Burkitt’s lymphoma. Diffuse large B cell lymphoma patients presented a compressive multinodular goiter, cervical adenopathy (66%), disseminated disease (50%)(16).
