Vaccine safety and contamination dangers at manufacturing plants

(NaturalHealth365) As if parents didn’t already have enough to worry about when faced with pro-vaccine pressure from healthcare professionals, government agencies and fellow parents, additional vaccine dangers continue to be discovered. Pharmaceutical companies are guilty of taking safety shortcuts and allowing dangerous contaminants to make their way into vaccines.

For example, in 2012, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cited pharmaceutical manufacturer Sanofi for multiple contamination incidences, while parents continue to be assured of ‘vaccine safety.’

How can we allow 58 citations to be ignored?

While big pharma has done a good job of sweeping such incidences under the rug, the paper trail remains. In 2012, FDA investigators sent a warning letter to Sanofi that included an astounding 58 citations regarding its plant in Canada.

Many of the citations identified failures related to poor manufacturing environment conditions, inadequate disinfection procedures and questionable test results. The warning came following an investigation that began in 2010.

The letter from FDA officials also included a couple of dozen citations related to flooding that had caused contamination of the company’s manufacturing facilities – resulting in loss of profits for the company. However, in reports to investors, the pharmaceutical company’s leadership claimed the flooding and contamination that followed had been resolved, and are not part of the FDA’s warning. Meanwhile, the company saw profits continue to plummet as it became unable to sustain expected production levels.

Vaccine contamination is not an ‘isolated’ event

Unfortunately, the incident with the Canadian manufacturing facility is not an isolated event. Incidences of toxic contamination in Sanofi facilities can be found in countries around the globe – leaving a trail of million dollar losses and vaccine shortages. Australian regulators contacted the company over concerns about sterility from a tuberculosis vaccine. But that vaccine wasn’t the only product causing concern there.

In 2010, children receiving the company’s flu vaccine began developing seizures, high fevers and vomiting, forcing officials to impose a temporary ban on the vaccine.

Are vaccines ‘safe and effective’ when people die?

In Japan, four children died after receiving multiple immunizations during single, routine check-ups. Those vaccines were made by Sanofi and Pfizer. Although the health ministry temporarily suspended use of the vaccinations, a Japanese investigative panel later released the company from wrongdoing, asserting the deaths were not related to the vaccines.

But, the ‘investigation’ ignores the fact that children died within the first 24 hours of receiving the immunizations. Meanwhile, Sanofi recalled 13 lots of its haemophilus influenza type b (HiB) vaccine after it found that contaminated syringes were used to reconstitute the vaccine.

Sanofi has also come under fire in China, were officials have investigated the company for bribing healthcare providers. The company attempted to cover up direct payments made to doctors, stating the money was actually made in the form of research grants.

Government-run health agencies refuse to really protect the public

The vaccine manufacturer has also been cited by the FDA regarding problems in its facilities in France, where the company is headquartered. The agency cited the company for failure to follow proper procedures designed to prevent microbial contamination.

In addition, the FDA notified the company that it would share the information with other governmental agencies, so the citations could be taken into account when contracts are awarded.

While government officials in many countries continue to investigate the manufacturing and marketing practices of big pharma, the harsh reality is that most result only in temporary bans of specific types of vaccines. So, profits will continue to be earned before safety concerns are addressed.

Clearly, it remains the responsibility of parents to research and investigate the safety of the vaccines proposed to be injected into their children.
