I hope everyone is having a great weekend. The next installment of “Blast from the past includes 4 posts. Wow, I bet you did not see that coming. HA! WARNING…oohh that felt cool to write or did it?? OK, no real warning just an observation: The last post does not match the rest of the post. It seems to be a day off. So her we go:

Thanks Charles, I can only contribute my success to the abundant information and resources provided to me by this forum and my sense of self determination. Years ago I thought “why not (ZC)?” I was not personally aware of all the research that was already out there. I did not know how healthy it was and to tell the truth I did not want to be a guinea pig (in my mind). I guess I got too comfortable with the successes with LC and VLC. I just could not figure why I ultimately failed on those diets. Had I known the science about this WOE, I would have jumped right in. So now I know and this is the case here and now for me.

I can’t thank you enough for this Forum. So here is a big Texas THANK YOU!!!!!

Incredible! That’s how a good night sleep is to me. I slept in again today. Such a lovely phrase. I feel rested, relaxed and just……….GREAT. If I could go to sleep between eight and nine during my work week, I would feel much more rested than I usually do. Unfortunately that is something I cannot manage to do. I imagine I could take sleep aids, but that’s not me.

I weigh myself every morning not just to see if I lost weight. No, no, no, it’s a double edge sword. I am trying to be scientific about it. I am trying to see if something I ate or the amount of water I drank or the time I eat or drink affects the way I lose weight. If I think something I did out of the ordinary the day or night before shifted my weight positive or negative, I will make adjustments and see what I get. Until I feel more stable, I will continue down this path. It works for me.

I ended up going to the movies with my best friend today (DW worked). It just grossed me out at the orgy of people from all walks of life that gorged themselves on HFC soft drinks, candy, hotdogs, popcorn and all the other usual suspects. 

What grossed me out the most is that I would have joined in the frenzy just a few years ago. I used to always like the smell of fresh popped popcorn, because it reminded me of my grandfather’s theater that I used to work at in the summer when I was a kid. Today the smell was masked by some nasty smelling “fake buttery” topping (YUK). 

We went out for a cocktails and dinner. My friend had a beer and I had my sparkling water. We both ordered the Rib eye steak that came with two side orders. I looked at my friend and told him to choose four because I would not be eating any. So he had his Rib eye steak and four sides and I had my Rib eye steak neat. It was about 12 oz and was more than enough for me. I explained (ZC) to him and he seemed receptive. I have known him for almost 40 years and he has always been very supportive in all my ventures. 

Unfortunately it rained all day and we were not able to enjoy sitting outside by the waterway. It was good to spend some time with my best friend. We haven’t had time to chew the “fat” for at least three months. Before I got married we would meet for coffee or meals at least 2 to three times a week if not more. 

Today was fun and relaxing. I hope everyone had a good day. BTW we saw “Predators”, it was o.k.. I guess.

Original Stardate: 7/18/2010 (timeline is a little messed up, sorry)
I ended up staying home all day. I’m going to meet my friend tomorrow for that drink by the waterway. I did not eat much today. I ate steak twice, once around 10:00 AM and the other around 7:30 PM. The steaks I eat are always cut in half. They average 5-8 ounces each. I tried to drink to thirst. The only thing is that I feel thirsty often. Instead of drinking a whole glass of water, I fill the glass a fourth of the way. Still no cravings for carbs or any cheats. I rested a lot today. I find myself having to go to the Water Closet less often lately. 

Although I have lost some weight (over 13 pounds). I don’t feel like my appearance is much different. The only exception: I think my face may have lost some of its swollen look. I didn’t measure anything before I started this WOE. I think my cloths may be fitting a little better, but it’s hard to tell since they were tight to begin with. 

Another Great (ZC) day gone into the pages of history on my journey to this WOE. I thank God for the strength, conviction, and overall well-being that I have had the fortune of during this transition.

Observation:
Special Note: I think I goofed on some of the dates when I achieved this Journal and it appears that some of the dates are a little out of line (sorry about that). So if you read on some posted 2-4 posts on the same day and the timeline is a little off just think “This is coming from Dave” Hahaha!!! Observation: OK this lad actually had in mind something that resembled (ZC) in is oh so little mind, but was scared to attempt it. I gave “Gratitude” to this forum and rightfully so. Again I note how sleep plays an important role in my wellbeing. Next I describe my “Daily Weight-ins”: I put on my oh so little scientist hat and try to make sense of this (at the time) new (WOE). Hey folks this is the way I looked and still look at (ZC) to keep me interested and informed to the best of my limited ability. Then I go on to describe my experience as a new (ZC)er at the movies. Aaahhh……. Surrounded by all those tons of carbs. I go into detail about the “eating frenzy” and how that not too long before that I was right there with them stuffing my oh so fat face too. YIKES!!! I had dinner with my best friend and explained (ZC) to him and ever since then he has been very supportive. Lastly, the last post is somehow not the right timeline, anyway it looks like now I finally correct myself on H20 consumption. I think I went a little too far and over analyzed that who deal. At this point I notice my face starting to thin-out a little, tight cloths fitting a little better and overall satisfaction with the new (WOE). I mention losing over 13 pound, but according to the stats I lost 15 pounds at this point.
