You'll Want to Stop Eating Tilapia Immediately Before it Is Too Late (Video)

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

(N.Morgan)  Everyone likes Tilapia, especially at this time of year during Lint. This fish is inexpensive and the filets sold do not have bones, skin, and that fishy taste. It is also easy to prepare. As great as it sounds, sadly there is a down side to this fish.

Turns out that tilapia may be even more disastrous for your health than some of the notorious meat, including pork and beef.

The tilapia we buy for consumption is a cultivated fish, and no supermarket or a restaurant has wild tilapia on its menu.

The major problem with the tilapia that comes from the stores is that it comes from factory farms, farms where tilapia is fed an unnatural, unhealthy diet that includes soy pellets and GMO corn instead of the delicious algae and plants it would eat in the wild.

Why can’t you eat farm-raised Tilapia?

Farm-raised tilapia has been proven to cause issues in the body including joint inflammations, asthma, coronary disease, and other chronic health issues.

However, farmed fish has ten times the normal quantities of carcinogenic or cancer causing agents compared to the wild fish.

Tilapia is one of those farmed fish types.

Farmed fish also contain more pesticides, usually used for treating the fish for infections.

These pesticides often remain in their bodies even after harvesting.

Another issue associated with the farm-raised fish is the high level of Dioxin in them. This substance is lethal, and when you take it into your system, it may remain there up to a decade. it was discovered that farmed fish contain 11 times more dioxin than wild fish.

Furthermore, the farm-raised tilapia packs less solid supplements compared to the wild tilapia. It also has lower levels of protein and higher levels of omega 6 unsaturated fats compared to omega 3 ones. The imbalance of omega 3 and omega 6 has adverse impacts on our bodies.

We must say that one of the major ingredients of the ranch fish food is chicken poop. So what do you think, do you really want that on your menu? Because if you are buying and eating the tilapia available from the grocery store, you basically have that as the entree on your plate.

No, if you remove the bones from the fish then it will have no bones. See, simple Chinese logic wins again

        As for:

“You’ll Want to Stop Eating Tilapia Immediately …”

Well, no, I find myself wanting to eat Tilapia more – and immediately!

In China we call the Tilapia the ‘lady genital fish’ as some fishermen (mostly Japanese and Koreans) like to make love to these fish during long fishing voyages at sea

      Hello Angle#3(prelim),

Charlie here. ANY fish farm-raised is DANGEROUS to eat! Even if it is “clean” fish. And yes, it is said they feed them chicken poop, ground-up plastics and it is actually WORSE in China.

Also, do not eat farmed salmon. Many other fish are also farmed-fish. Given all kinds of antibiotics you can even call them Pharma-fish.

I would not eat anything that comes from China like that. Yes, even doughnuts. I would burn those doughnuts for fuel to make my doughnuts.

Charlie (just telling you like it is here at the doughnut farm where we feed them only flour, sugar, and yeast)

Especially when it is time for Lint? What? Bellybutton lint?

      • IronicMetaphors

Lint is a Catholic thing.. Like Wednesday was the beginning of Lint with Ash Wednesday.. You may have seen people with black crosses or smudges on their forehead.

      • Big dog.../small fish...

        It’s L-E-N-T!!

        • Skeetersaurus

ROFL, lint. Yep, got religion in my dryer, too. The holy vale-o’-lint must be removed every time you use it, and those evil demon-dust-bunnies are everywhere in there, trying to possess you with the sneezes if you don’t get on your hands and knees and profess to the ‘god-o’-dust-buster’ to get them out from every nook-and-cranny that they may hide within.

          >SMACK<[in our best Southern Revival Tone] "Dust Bunnies BE GONE! Return to the dryer sheets, heathens, and be saved!"

          Too funny…

“Farm-raised tilapia has been proven to cause issues in the body, including joint inflammations, asthma, coronary disease, and chronic health issues.”

Evidence? Proof? Or are you just making claims and throwing out random “facts?”
Fact: 87% of BIN contributors are getting paid off by the poultry industry.

Is that cancer in that fish’s stomach? Man, I love Tilapia with Texas Pete, But not anymore I guess.
Check out the ‘farm raised’ shrimp and other seafood from asia that are sold here too. They raise millions of shrimp in a 20′ diameter pond and they basically live and breed in their own feces and then are sold to us! We need more alternatives to access safer foods these days since the FDA and other alphabet agencies are failing us miserably.
      Great Job as Usual, N.

I have never heard of Tilapia and I am in the UK would not eat anyway.

      • Leroy Winston

        Ah the UK…

Don’t you eat “river cobbler” in the UK? In Chinese parts of America we only use this fish for clubbing other animals to death – eg dogs for special festival meals. The cobbler makes a fine cudgel when deeply frozen.

no wonder so many people are becoming vegetarians by choice

    • 2QIK4U

      What’s Lint :?:

      • Eggzactly

Check down deep in the bottom of your pants pockets and you will find some.

Originally, both tilapia and pangsius fish were by-products of traditional rice production.
They lived in the shallow water puddles in rice fields and ate the algae and weeds that grew there. This was the custom in some regions only. Others didnt know it.

During 1970s, the original idea about those fish was to expand traditional rice-growing and add to the income of rice farmers and to the protein supply for Asian populations by making them all raise those fish in rice fields.
But pesticide and big-machine use in “modern” ie degenerated rice production inhibited this path which would have been viable and reasonable.
It even made the traditional production of those fish impossible in the region where it came from…

Then, the Big Food Companies took this problem as an opportunity to develop a “modern” degenerated way of raising tilapia and pangasius too – in order to feed the world with those fish, to obscurate the progredient world-wide scarcity of wild fish and to make money and even more money… out of crap! I mean the chicken dung that is used to feed these fish. In natural habitats they do eat dung too, for its protein content, but it is not the antibiotic- and hormone-laden crap that comes from today´s chicken farms.

Everyone who lives in a warm region of Earth and has shallow water puddles available can raise Tilapia, the Grass Carp, himself and doesnt need to buy industrial grass-carp meat. I would recommend this for example for people living in the Everglades of Florida, or for the more humid regions in Africa.
In cooler regions, as Core Europe, or the New England States and southern Canadian regions, one can raise small relatives of the common Carp in shallow ponds, for example the “redfeather fish” (Rotfeder) which grows to a size of fifteen or twenty centimetres. It lives on algae, weeds, plant rootlets, and tiny water animals. Redfeather fish taste well but are full of bones (called “Gräten” in my German language) and thus mostly used in soups or, after chopping them to destroy the Gräten, to make fish burgers.

      Long live the Carp Soup!

A lot of the fish farms in China also have raw sewage flowing into them. Take a look at the color of that water. Yuck. My Vietnamese friend told me never, ever, eat crabmeat (the kind in the can – refrigerated or not). She said if I ever saw how the crab were raised it would make me throw-up my cookies. She said the crabs are raised awash in human waste.

      • Arlene Johnson

Bossmanrocks-Thank you so much. I have saved your comment.

      • Leroy Winston

Human waste makes a fine food for fish and crustaceans. It’s just recycling in its purest natural form.

Of course, it is only Vietnamese people eating poop-reared crabs, so it doesn’t matter greatly.

    • Hoff

Lint begins with Ass Wednesday. Get it right, people.
