      Good article,treating the cause and not the symptoms is a good way forward.
      From my self experience,Depression could be triggered by a trauma (death to a close relative,baby in the womb absorbed to much of a certain vitamin which is not replaced,PND,car accident, etc,etc)which in turn could be related to a vitamin deficiency were B12 plays a significant role.5-HTP is also very good but it is easier to get a blood test first.
      But no two persons are the same,let alone 7 billion people.
