Keep your Body Moisturized & Soft in These Festive Season

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Meeting up with your bestie for lunch, late afternoon coffee with a client, and dinner with former colleagues — it’s how your typical day looks like during the holidays.  You know it’s bound to get even busier and more stressful as everybody else gets into the festive holiday spirit.

It’s not unusual to see your skin breakout or dry up around this time, even as you religiously apply your sunscreen for sensitive skin.  Alcohol, lack of sleep, binging on unhealthy food, and lack of exercise can be quite common around this time of the year and aggravate further your skin’s sorry condition.

How to keep your skin hydrated around the holidays

Don’t surrender to dull, imperfect skin just yet!  There are things under your control that you can do to support your skin in surviving the hectic, crazy holiday rush. Learn these tips to know how to take care of dry skin at home:

1.  Don’t rush your routine.  Take the time to do each and every step carefully, gently and thoroughly.  You want to give your products sufficient time to seep in before layering it with other heavier formulated products in your routine.  Perform your regimen mindfully and be dutiful in ensuring you never miss out on your regimen, not even when all you want to do when you get home is go to bed.

2.  Keep following the routine that’s right for your skin.  Other than that, you should also consider your routine’s compatibility with the winter weather.  Beyond your basic cleanse, tone and moisturize regimen, make sure to exfoliate even in winter and pack in moisture as much as you can and as often as possible.  Moisture your face and body.  For skin on your neck and décolleté, try V-Zone Neck Cream.

3.  Keep the moisture in Other than layering your skin in essential oils and moisturizers, keep using your sunscreen for sensitive skin even when it’s all dim and gloomy outdoors in the morning.  Harmful UV rays are lurking and are eagerly looking for opportunities to hurt and damage your skin.  Antioxidants infused in your sunscreen will also provide added protection from UV and from free radicals as well.

4.  Keep the surrounding air from drying.  Getting a humidifier for your home is a small investment for the humongous benefits your skin can derive from it, particularly in winter.  A humidifier keeps the air around your home or office filled with water droplets so as not to suck out the moisture from your skin.  In winter, find every opportunity to be indoors where you can control the temp and avoid the harsh outdoor conditions whenever possible.

5.  Keep a mist in your purse.  Spray from about 5 inches away of your face and around whenever you feel the surrounding air is drying up your pores and making your skin dull and rough.  A mist will help revitalize your skin other than amping up the moisture.

6.  Be more selective of your skincare products in winter.  Harsh products are commonly accountable for drying out skin, whether it’s winter or spring.  Use only products that will be gentle and delicate to your skin to avoid irritation and inflammation.  Apart from that, it will help your skin to make sure that you’re using products that are not just made for your skin type but also formulated to match the harsh winter weather conditions.

7.  Plan your winter diet.  Sip on alcohol but don’t go beyond one glass.  Apart from controlling your alcohol intake and putting on a V-Zone Neck Cream, make sure to incorporate fresh and nutritious foods in your diet, most especially foods high in Omega-3 fatty acids, that includes walnuts, fatty fish and avocados.

8.  Keep exercising.  Get healthy nutrient circulation rolling throughout by making your heart pump harder.  A good circulation is the only way you can ensure that your skin is receiving the nutrients it needs to fuel repair and rejuvenation.

9.  Exfoliate and scrub.  Don’t fall into the wrong notion that you shouldn’t scrub and exfoliate during the colder, drier months.  These routines will leave your skin dry but, these will also get the dry skin off the surface of your skin.

10.  Know when to head home.  You don’t have to be the last one to go.  If you want your skin to keep glowing with health throughout the holidays, head home when it’s time for you to go to bed. Follow all these skin care tips for the dry & damaged skin.

Conclusion

Sounds easy?  Not really, because the holidays will be tempting enough to make you skip one or more tips from this list so be prepared.
