FIGHT – The Medical scam of America -

If you want affordable health care, we must all fight the system!

After my true story, I will tell you how to get affordable health care.

My wife and I consider ourselves, middle class if there is one yet? We both had good jobs and great health insurance. For some reason, my wife thinks that it’s Ok to let millions of illegals into our country and overload our systems like medical, housing, educational, prisons etc… For years I told her that this overload of illegals will eventually affect our families future by lowering our standard of living!

My wife finally agrees with me, ever since our lives have changed due to the fact that we lost our health insurance! After both of us lost our jobs due to company shut downs, directly due to overseas out sourcing. Since then we have become business owners, but could not afford the $1,200 a month health insurance premium for a high deductible ($5,000) basically worthless plan!

So we had to go without insurance and hope for the best. Things were going good for about a year, until my wife had a medical emergency. Long story short, for a few tests and a 24 hour hospital visit, we were billed for $13,000. We would have been billed for about $20,000 if we had not questioned every test that they wanted to do. As one example, they wanted to do a 2^nd test that was about $4,000. We asked why do another test of one they had done earlier, the answer was, we just want to see if anything looks different! Our reply was, if anything looks different on the 2^nd test, will the outcome or treatment be any different? Their reply was no. WTF?

Time and time again we are hearing more horror stories from friends, family and even health care professionals which we have many as friends.

The amount of incompetence in the medical system is mind boggling. I may write an article in the future about some of the gross mistakes that are being made on patients. We know many people that work in surgery and the stories will blow your minds. Off topic, my neighbor who is a Vietnam vet, just got a bill for $200,000 for a 10 day stay in a hospital and only one test was done to verify what had already been tested at the VA hospital! My friend was going down hill so fast by laying on his back doing nothing for 10 days, he just got up and left. He was so weak he could hardly walk to get to the street, for his son to pick him up. The assholes in the hospital would not even give him a ride in a wheel chair. Talk about some heartless people, but they had no problem slapping a $200,000 bill in the mail!

Now to the solution:

After looking around for an affordable health care solution, we discovered an option that is not very well known YET. This is probably due to the conventional health care/medical/pharmaceutical industries that are robbing everyone blind.

Our solution was to join Christian Health Care Ministries. After talking with many of our friends, we found that several of them have joined them a while back, and are very satisfied. There are a growing number of non conventional health insurance companies like this one. (We do not have any business ties to the above) we only buy insurance. Check out others before you make a decision.

The way they work is very simple. If you send them a medical bill, they contact the hospital, question all charges on the bill and then make a CASH settlement to the hospital. In our case, we are now paying under $200 a month for premiums. This organization that we use has over 1,000,000 members, so they have a lot of power over the hospitals.

I believe that since Obama care helped to accelerate the fee structure of the bloated health insurance industry, that ultimately the free market will fix things if enough people get pissed off with the current system!

Suggestions:

Stop paying high health care premiums, join an alternate health group. If you currently have insurance through an employer, see if you can switch and get the difference of premiums put into your paycheck. Your employer might even want to switch all employees to the alternate system?

Do your own research online.

Always deal with the business office in person, if you have a billing or procedure problem. Do not let them intimidate you! Remember YOU paid them to do a GOOD job.

Question all tests and procedures BEFORE having them done(be your own advocate). Get a second opinion if you need one.

This is really important! Ask upfront, How much will the tests and procedures cost. Costs have a wide range from one clinic to another. Let them know that you are not an easy target to screw over when they bill you.

Avoid any unnecessary tests or procedures. The more you have done, the more things can go wrong due to negligence on their part!

DO NOT go to any doctor or clinic that you do not trust. Get and keep the attitude that you are paying them to do a job. Refuse to pay if they screw up. In the case of a screw up, seek legal council.

Go through your bill with a fine tooth comb, since most large itemized bills have over billing items put in (test/procedures, consultations that were never done) etc… Help your insurance company this way, by not letting them over pay.
