We find ourselves in a weird situation. We have a pandemic of a scale that no one living today can compare to anything he or she has ever experienced. Many people simply cannot adjust so easily and so fast to this situation. What follows is either panic or violent opposition. “If I can’t handle it, than it cannot be true, so I don’t need to handle it.”

All kinds of “experts” present numbers and statistics that don’t make sense, comparing the case fatality rate of one disease (like the flu) with the death rate of the Coronavirus Covid-19.

Their objective is to prove that this new virus is no real problem. However, we do not need to look at the numbers necessarily, although we’ve done that (see our previous posts).

The reality around us speaks for itself. Hospitals around the US and Europa are challenged beyond their capacity. There is a massive shortage of respirators. Morgues and crematoria cannot process the many bodies that are brought in. Does this in any way shape or form remind of the annual flu season? Or of any other situation ever? No, it does not!

To keep insisting that it is a hoax, or nothing more than the flu is madness. Moreover it is disrespectful to those suffering and dying, to their families and to the healthcare workers that risk their own lives and go beyond exhaustion to help others. On top of that it is ignorant, reckless and irresponsible. Because the deniers will not take the necessary precautions and endanger themselves and others. The deaths are real. The suffering is real. And no one who denies it now will be able to hold that position when it comes near to them. Then they will move into the self-evident stage. But they will psychologically be totally unprepared and the shock will be devastating.
