Vitamin C Reduces Human Mortality

Here it is (Bet your doctor did not tell you this):

https://www.lifeextension.com/magazine/2019/3/vitamin-c-reduces-human-mortality

“Vitamin C has been found to cut the risk of premature death from cancer, cardiovascular disease, and weakened immune function. In a recent study, people with the highest blood levels of vitamin C demonstrated a 25% lower risk of dying from any cause.”

And here:

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30100578/

“higher plasma vitamin C concentration was associated with lower total mortality, heart disease mortality and cancer mortality. Our results corroborate the importance of adequate vitamin C to human health.”

But this is what I got when I googled “Vitamin c longevity”

Vitamin C is an essential nutrient your body needs for many functions. Some advocates believe that megadoses of vitamin C could increase lifespan and reduce disease risk. However, the theory is not supported by scientific evidence.

Really?  How about this:

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0002916522037340

In cohorts with information on supplemental vitamin C intake, higher overall intake of vitamin C was associated with lower CHD (Coronary heart disease)  rates. Subjects in the highest quintile of vitamin C intake (median intake of 756 mg/d) had a 24% lower risk than did those in the lowest quintile.

More about vitamin c:

The vast majority of all mammals, fish, reptiles, and birds synthesize their own vitamin C.  Currently human DNA lacks the gene to produce the enzyme used in the synthesis of vitamin C.  Humans have a genetic disease.  Either you get your vitamin C from food or you can take vitamin C supplements.  Did your doctor ever mention that to you?  New information?  Nope.

From Wikipedia:

Vitamin C (also known as ascorbic acid and ascorbate) is a vitamin found in various foods and sold as a dietary supplement. It is used to prevent and treat scurvy. Vitamin C is an essential nutrient involved in the repair of tissue, the formation of collagen, and the enzymatic production of certain neurotransmitters. It is required for the functioning of several enzymes and is important for immune system function. It also functions as an antioxidant. Most animals are able to synthesize their own vitamin C, although humans, the other great and lesser apes, monkeys (but not all primates), most bats, some rodents, and certain other animals must acquire it from dietary sources.

Injectable vitamin C (mineral ascorbates) have been used successfully to treat viral infections for several decades:
