The Jordan Harbinger Show talks with Jonathan Haidt about his latest book, “The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood Is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness”.

The girls using social media all seem to be looking there for someone as a potential role model. What happened in the time period of great rewiring is, before when you were on a flip phone, you were not copying Role Models, you were just texting your friend but you changed up to a smartphone and now you are spending at least 5 hours a day on social media sites including Tik Tok and YouTube and gey told by sociel media what this influencer is worth and how powerful they are. The viewer uses this information as a mechanism of prestige and rank to select this invidividual as a role model. Social Media can’t be any more explicit. They are going to tell you who the high value role models. That means more viewers will copy her and now she has 33 million followers, meaning all the young girls are copying the same role model. A terrible way to raise kids, and girls are more susceptible to this influence than boys because girls spend more time on social media and they’re also girls who are more open to each other, more easily influenced and influenceable, overall, just more connected.

I think this is one of the reasons why the mental health collapse of girls is sp very sudden, happening right around 2012-2013.
