Worldwide, oral problems are more common in backward section of the population and almost every adult suffers from dental caries at least once in their lifespan. An approximate 60- 90% of school going children suffered from tooth decay and dental cavities as recorded in 2012. Periodontal diseases, commonly known as gum-related problems was found to be common amongst the people in the age group of 35-44 years worldwide and approximately 30% of the population under the age group of 65-75 years uses dentures or false teeth.
