Obamacare Raising Out Of Pocket Costs Of Cancer & AIDS Patients

If you like your cancer and/or AIDS drugs to keep yourself alive you can’t keep your cancer and/or AIDS drugs unless you pay a LOT more out of pocket to do so. If you can’t afford those costs, apparently the Obama administration is fine with you up and dying as the Obamacare law deems you just too darn expensive to treat.

Guess this is just another example of “we need to pass the law to see what’s in it” as promised by Nancy Pelosi when Democrats, without a single Republican vote and the vast majority of Americans opposed, helped ram a highly unpopular and divisive healthcare law through Congress in 2010. And now we are ALL paying the price, including those patients most vulnerable to the high costs of healthcare.

“People with Obamacare coverage who take medications for cancer, HIV, multiple sclerosis, and other chronic diseases might pay more out of pocket next year. A greater share of insurance plans sold in the healthcare.gov marketplace will require consumers to pay 30 percent or more of the cost of specialty drugs, according to a new analysisfrom consultant Avalere Health.”

A year over year increase of thirty percent in out of pocket costs for these already very expensive treatment drugs will prove for many patients a debilitating increase they simply can’t afford when they are also battling to simply remain alive.
