The Post Pinocchio rating on ACA is Poppycock.

The other day the Washington Post wrote an article on a fact check about ObamaCare. Obama said ObamaCare has saved 50,000 lives a year. The  Pinocchio guy at the Post agrees and swallows the bull … Hook  line and sinker. And this is annoying. If it is an article about a statement by a Republican they usually are blessed with 2-3 Pinocchios. But this one on Obama received no Pinocchios.

It is a pretty in depth article that tries to prove that Obama’s statement is not poppycock. And Obama can say pretty much anything and the liberals and the media swear by it… Most of the time.

So Obama is trying to say that thanks to ObamaCare 50,000 people are alive today that would not be alive. He stated: The Affordable Care Act is “a major reason why we’ve seen 50,000 fewer preventable patient deaths in hospitals”.

So this is an  easy statement to prove. If the death numbers for the US of A has decreased by 50,000 then yahoo for Obama. But the Health and Service folks are spinning some tales. And the numbers the Post uses goes back to 2010. But didn’t the website fiasco start last year.

If the spin makers said something like 20 to 30 million have been added to the Medicaid roles, then maybe 50,000 people have been saved. Nah I am only kidding.

They claim by Feb. 2014 more than 3 million people that’s additional signed up for Medicaid thanks to the Obama website and other exchanges.  If they said 50,000 patients were saved because of that, then let’s see the numbers. But since the death rate is about 2.5 million a year. There is no data that indicates that this number fell or will fall by 50,000 by the end of 2015 or 2014.

The odds are that it will increase.  Also for the mortality rates they don’t even mention HAC deaths.

The folks on Medicaid are covered and there is no data that indicates that they would have died without ObamaCare Medicaid. Because most people before ObamaCare were allowed to show up at a hospital and they would have been serviced without having insurance.

But the new crew of subscribers  that no one is talking about yet are the people that show up at the emergency room and they immediately sign up for ObamaCare on the spot. The hospital admits them and the patients may make the first month’s payment but maybe not. So the insurance company has to cover these folks for 2 months. Then under ObamaCare the hospitals will need to collect from the patient. My guess will be that the hospitals will start paying the premiums until they get payment from the insurance company and then they will drop the payments. And the next time this guy gets ill he starts the process all over again.

So again my original hypothesis is correct. The government for the most part was paying for these people off the radar. Now you get to pay for the other guy directly every time you pay your premiums. That’s not too bad if you had decent coverage with low deductibles, co pay and premiums. But the ObamaCare premiums are outrageous and the deductibles are a joke. But I guess we all can do the same thing. Sign up for ObamaCare for the first month of the year. Only make the first payment. And stop paying. This way you don’t get penalized. And you save thousands of dollars a year. If you happen to get seriously ill, then sign up again. So that Obama is a genius! In 12 months or so Obama totally screwed the American health care system and the middle class taxpayers!

In the next 20 years someone will try to straighten Obama’s mess out. But the more things that Obama expects from the healthcare provider in the name of prevention will only add to the costs. And there are no numbers that prove the death rates have gone down. Matter of fact those who would benefit from bed sores preventative treatment and the like are more likely to be covered by  Medicare and not ObamaCare. Some how the liberals will want to take credit for Medicare. Don’t forget Obama stole from Medicare to get the party started a few years ago.

So back to Pinocchio. This article was written by Mr. Kessler. His lips are so stuck to Obama’s butt that they are sticking out of Obama’s umbilicus. In the article the author of this baloney states:  “We directly estimate the size of the reduction in HAC  (Hospital Acquired Conditions) rates but rely on analysis from other researchers of the complex relationship between HACs and mortality to extrapolate the impact of the reduction in HACs on deaths averted.”
At the very least, “tens of thousands” of deaths were averted, the report says.”
Cleary this is nonsense. If Kessler wants to become a fact checker someday, he would need to list all the people who died from bed sores in 2010, and so on. If that number dropped by 50,000 in 2014 then amen. But when people like Hillary and Obama don’t talk in real numbers to back up their stories, they are lying. But it all sounds good.
Let’s face it, if you are in the hospital long enough to develop serious bed sores, there is something going on that is much more serious. If one dies, did he die from the serious illness, or the bed sores.  Shame on Kessler. Maybe they should call in the CBO to make up more numbers. After all ObamaCare is going to pay for itself. Translated the middle class will end up paying for the bulk of ObamaCare.
Kessler gives Obama a Geppetto  (Pinocchio’s adopted father) checkmark. What is he nuts! Guess we know who is going to be invited to the Whitehouse.  If Kessler couldn’t give out 4 Pinocchios, he should have claimed the 5th.
I discovered a great article out of Britain that has socialized medicine for about 75 years. The article states that “In 2010, more than 27,000 people died with bedsores or infected wounds”.  And if you drill down into the article you will find that only 218 of these folks were listed  and their cause of death was bed sores. They were in hospitals and care homes. And my guess is if an autopsy was done, unless it was suicide caused by the pain of the sores, the cause of death would not be bed sores.
So all Kessler had to do was find this article and instead of looking dumb, he could have given Obama  5 Pinocchios. Would we expect less from Obama or Hillary? It took me 5 minutes to find the article from England. Maybe they should find a doctor to do the fact checking instead of a journalist that doesn’t know very much!
But our socialist medicine is just beginning. Maybe someday we can catch up to England in the number of bed sores attributed to poor care subscribed by a government run healthcare. But after all you didn’t build it! Obama and his merry band of liberals built it!
