Local Garage Cabinet Retailer Helps Disabled Horse Riders Group Make New Space Better

The H.A.L.T.R. organization offers riding to disabled members of the community. The group also provides safe riding and driving programs for people with special needs. Over the summer of 2011, the H.A.L.T.R. program moved to a new space within the Bengal Lancers Barn on Bell Road. The organization’s old space was located on the second floor and as such was impossible for participants to access. With the help of volunteers, the new space was carved out of the main floor in the barn allowing easier accessibility.

With their new space renovated, the H.A.L.T.R. program Directors turned to Better Space Systems for a storage solution tailored to their needs. Better Space Systems owner Gary Compagnon was contacted by H.A.L.T.R. Director Helga Cunningham to design and install a tailor made storage space in the barn. “We were extremely happy to support an organization that provides a valuable service to the community”, said Mr. Compagnon.

The area was of an odd shape and the need for storage was very apparent. Better Space Systems designed and installed a small two door vertical cabinet unit providing the group participants and trainers a place to store all of their training aids. The unit was designed and installed to be off the floor and still allow for easy access by participants and trainers. Also, by adding drawers, program volunteers were able to organize smaller items in the cabinet unit preventing them from needing to go to the upstairs office for miscellaneous supplies.
