Democrats and republicans both guilty of unending immigration

You almost cannot believe that democrats and republicans connive and work against American workers.  While we import 1.2 million legal, green card-holding immigrants every year, the Grand Old Party wants to include an additional guest worker program in its platform.

The democrats call for the same thing. They cannot imagine or understand that 14 million Americans cannot secure a job and that 46 million Americans subsist on food stamps because they cannot secure a job.

Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, www.FAIRus.org, gives us an idea of the duplicity Americans face as their own leaders work to displace them from the work force.  I talked with Mr. Stein this week:

“The GOP immigration policy statement is getting a thorough going-over by party leaders in Tampa scrambling to find consensus among divided members and hoping to broker a final document,” said Stein.  “As usual, the party split is between enforcement-only Republicans and business-wing Republicans willing to concur but only with increased access to foreign guest workers.

“The Party endorses E-Verify, Arizona-style laws, increased border security and supports prohibitions on sanctuary cities and in-state tuition for illegal aliens. All are welcome improvements to the current non-enforcement policy of the Obama administration.

“However, the GOP wish-list also calls for a “legal and reliable source of foreign labor through a new guest-worker program,” despite the fact that the U.S. already admits close to one million guest-workers annually. Alarmingly, the proposed Republican platform ignores the over 23 million unemployed and underemployed U.S. citizens and legal residents who would be harmed by increased competition for scarce jobs from foreign workers.

“Notably missing from any discussion is how – and will – a new Republican president reverse the Obama administration’s new immigration guidelines prohibiting the removal of non-criminal aliens. This broad and lawless administrative amnesty will carry forward and without immediate intervention, all other enforcement initiatives are moot.

“Ideally, a finalized GOP immigration policy platform will include a cogent plan to reinstate the rule of law, enhance perimeter and interior enforcement and elevate the needs of U.S. workers over business interests.”

Hispanic Leadership Unveils Their Immigration Agenda: All Wrong

“The National Hispanic Leadership Agenda (NHLA) – a coalition of 30 Hispanic groups – has just published a broad manifesto of their policy goals to present at both political conventions,” said Stein.  “Their immigration agenda reflects a desire to further dismantle interior enforcement, abrogate American border sovereignty, confer legal status to every illegal alien currently residing in the U.S. and expand federal benefits for all new arrivals.”

A small sampling of goals the NHLA wants to achieve:

• Full legislative passage of the DREAM Act so that 2 million illegal aliens granted deferred action under the President’s new amnesty edict can obtain green cards.
• Amnesty for the remaining 10 million illegal aliens in the U.S.
• Prohibitions against all state immigration enforcement bills.
• Waive the longstanding five year waiting period immigrants have before they are able to apply for federal welfare benefits.
• Removal of National Guard Troops on the southern border.
• Halting construction of the “walls and fences” along the border.
• Expansion of virtually every entitlement program to accommodate the needs of newly arriving immigrants.
• Vastly higher levels of legal immigration in every category.

“Given that Americans support none of these initiatives, and never will, the more realistic question is whether NHLA and its member groups actually represent the views of most Hispanics,” said Stein.  “If so, then Republicans and even moderate Democrats are wasting their time attempting to pander to this voting block by way of immigration since no compromise would ever be possible. It is more likely, however, that the groups comprising NHLA are out of touch with mainstream Hispanics and are doing them a disservice – groups like the National Council of La Raza, the Mexican American Legal Defense Fund and the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators.”

At what point does all immigration end?  It cannot continue from the standpoint of overpopulation overload.

 Lester Brown, author of Plan B 4.0 Saving Civilization said, “The world has set in motion environmental trends that are threatening civilization itself.  We are crossing environmental thresholds and violating deadlines set by nature. Nature is the timekeeper, but we cannot see the clock.”
