Why Haven't Lawmakers Been Indicted & Charged For This?

In an April 2005, column titled‘ Should Officials of the FDIC be Prosecuted?’ I wrote:

“This is an excerpt from Lou Dobbs show (CNN) on March 21, 2005: (Other transcripts of his shows that expose the deliberate and utter failure by Congress and Bush to stop this invasion can be found here.

“The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation is encouraging banks to sign up illegal aliens in the banking system, calling the growth of the market “a compelling incentive for U.S. banks to enter this largely untapped market.” And the FDIC program demonstrates that unbanked Latin American immigrants can be brought into the financial mainstream.

“But there are clear laws on the books for the integrity of the immigration system. United States criminal code, “It is a crime punishable by 10 years in jail for aiding and abetting someone in this country illegally for commercial gain.” And the Bank Secrecy Act of 1972 makes it clear banks must know their customer, and any illegal activity must be reported to the government.”

“The FDIC, this “independent” government operation is knowingly and willfully encouraging their organization and its employees to break the law and they are openly and blatantly violating federal immigration law.

“No one is exempt from the law. For the FDIC to encourage lawlessness because of what they call “the growth of the market” being a compelling incentive for “U.S. banks to enter this largely untapped market,” has got to be the most insane kool aid talk I have ever heard in my life. It doesn’t matter how nice an illegal might be or whether or not they go to church on Sunday. These criminals break the law to enter this country, they have no rights and are subject to immediate deportation, not bank loans.

“Take your money elsewhere. It’s also time for the American people to fight back using their checkbooks. According to a column by Keith Benman, NW Indiana Times, September 20, 2004:

“TCF Bank is the first bank to open the door to home loans for undocumented immigrants in Northwest Indiana; Fifth Third Bank plans to follow suit this month. TCF and Fifth Third will be among the largest banks in the United States to offer the new loans. They join about 15 other banks in the Midwest to do so. “‘Most of these folks want to become U.S. citizens, so there is a good intent here,’ said David Creel, TCF Bank vice president for marketing. ‘We believe everyone should have the opportunity to own a home. It’s as simple as that.’

“In Northwest Indiana, Fifth Third figures to have an advantage in marketing the loans with 27 full-service branches scattered throughout the region. TCF Bank operates six in-store branches in Northwest Indiana, mainly at Jewel-Osco stores.”

“I’ve got news for David Creel: Knowingly aiding and abetting illegal aliens is against the law….The criteria for making home loans to undocumented immigrants is the same as for anyone else, Saul Boscan, a vice president and director of special initiatives at Fifth Third, said. The bank wants to see a steady income and acceptable credit history.”

“Here’s another victim of mind melt. Illegal aliens are not “undocumented immigrants.” They are criminals who break our laws. Illegals acquire phony social security numbers or simply buy stolen ones on the black market to build themselves an “acceptable credit history.” Saul Boscan should be arrested and tried along with the rest of his banking buddies. Not only is he aiding and abetting criminals, he is helping to make sure the black market for stolen identities grows even bigger.”

Who was president then? George Bush, Jr. Who was the Attorney General? John Ashcroft. Who controlled Congress back then and for almost 14 years? Republicans held the majority in both the house and senate. They simply turned a blind eye. Now, they’re using illegals as a campaign weapon. What hypocrites.

Not just the FDIC and banks:

“Keeping with the Obama Administration’s mission to conduct the most diverse outreach campaign in history, the director of the U.S. Census Bureau is touring Mexican border towns with high illegal immigrant populations topersonally assure that those who fill out questionnaires this spring will not be deported.

“This is a safe thing for everyone to do regardless of your immigration status,” the president’s handpicked census director (Robert Groves) told residents of a renowned illegal alien “colonia” in south Texas this week. He visited several dilapidated makeshift homes off of a dirt road in a Laredo neighborhood called San Carlos to stress that census data will be kept confidential and not turned over to immigration authorities.”

Nebraska Hustles To Keep Illegal Alien Medical Coverage – April 19, 2010

“On the heels of a federal crackdown, lawmakers in Nebraska are scrambling to pass legislation that will allow pregnant illegal immigrant women to continue receiving free, taxpayer-financed medical care. The state has for decades offered the costly perk to pregnant illegal aliens, whose “anchor babies” are automatically United States citizens. However, the federal government recently notified the state that it was illegally determining eligibility for publicly-funded medical care known as Medicaid.” “Nebraskans: How does it feel to be raped by the enablers in your state legislature?

“County Gives $100k To Group That Aids Illegal Immigrants April 20, 2010: “In a disgraceful waste of tax dollars, a community group that assists illegal immigrants in the U.S. and helps them evade arrest has received $100,000 from a county that ironically has increased immigration enforcement in the last year. “The public funds went to Progreso Hispano, a nonprofit in Fairfax Virginia that proudly helps illegal aliens and aims to empower them and improve the quality of their lives and communities. The charity also counsels illegal immigrants who get arrested and offers a handy guide for “undocumented” residents dealing with federal agents.

“Progreso Hispano openly advices the areas illegal aliens to refrain from providing government officials with information about their immigration status, not to carry papers from another country, not to open the door if authorities come to their home, not to run and to sway co-workers to collectively remain silent and ask for an attorney in the event of an immigration raid.

“The Fairfax County Supervisors that recently approved the public funds aren’t bothered by Progreso Hispano’s work and predict it won’t negatively affect future allocations, according to the local newspaper that broke the story this week. One supervisor says she has no problem with “extending outreach” that informs people on how to comply with the law.”
