Seven bodies found in a Sonora border town, the only one identified was wanted for drug trafficking.
Seven bodies were found in the state of Sonora, right next to the border with the United States, the victims had bullets holes from a high power rifles, so far only one has been identified.
The exact spot where the bodies were found is called El Sasabe, in the Saric municipality, and is a place where access is possible only by all terrain vehicles. State Investigative Police (PEI) were the ones who officially reported the bodies and said that the only subject identified was wanted in the US for drug trafficking and is originally from Caborca and resident in Altar, a municipality with high flow of migrants.
The murder had happened on Saturday or Sunday of last week in an area where the state Department of Public Safety said is plagued by organized crime and gangs involved in drug trafficking and smuggling of people.
“Security elements of all three levels of government implemented an operation to find those responsible for killing the seven people whose bodies were found (Thursday) afternoon in an advance state of decomposition”.
“The victims were located on a creek in an area located next the border with the United States, 53 kilometers from the town of Sasabe.”
