Personnel working for Naval Intelligence obtained information about the shipment that navigated along the coast of Colima and Michoacan, to implement the operation in which participated aircraft of King Air, two units of the Oceanic Patrol and two interceptors, with the aim of impeding illicit activities along the Mexican coast.
After an intense search, this past Friday, one of the planes from King Air localized a small vessel, approximately 93 miles southeast of Manzanillo, and coordinated with central command and the Mexican Navy, in the area of the Seventh Naval Region, they directed the interceptor patrols towards the small vessel and boarded it to make an inspection.
The Marines found 24 packages in the interior of the vessel which contained 713 bricks of white powder with appropriate characteristics of cocaine, and proceeded with the detention of the six people on board, of whom three were Mexican nationals, two were from Ecuador and one from Colombia.
The suspects, after the illicit cargo was confiscated, were transferred to an Oceanic Patrol vessel, and were taken to a base of the Seventh Naval Region in Manzanillo, and put at the disposition of the corresponding authorities, the drugs with a gross weight of 806.5 kilo grams, were put at the disposition of the corresponding authorities, for the integration of the corresponding investigation.
