Federal Forces elements killed Juan Manuel Loaiza Salinas alias “El Toro” (CDG) and “Pancho” Carreón (Zeta) during an operation that triggered the burning of trucks, homes and some businesses.

At 2:30 today, elements of the Navy began a series of operations where the leader of the criminal group operating on this border was killed during the fighting.

Throughout the city were recorded blockades and burning vehicles, as a result of the death of “El Toro ” and “Pancho” Carreón.

  The government of Tamaulipas announced the death of ‘El Toro’ and ‘Pancho’ Carreón during a confrontation in Reynosa.

In his Twitter account, the state government published: ‘In Tamaulipas, Federal Forces confirm that after fighting with criminals, the delinquents ‘El Toro’ and ‘Pancho’ Carreon (sic) died.

One of the dead, Francisco Carreón, ‘Pancho Carreón’, was identified by authorities as leader of a cell of the self-styled ‘Cartel de los Zetas Vieja Escuela’.
Julián Loisa Salinas, better known as ‘El Toro’, was designated as head of the Gulf cartel in Reynosa.  Attempts by the police to capture him on several occasions led to several clashes with the criminal organization.

 The AP reported in a story published in the Ledger-Enquirer that the two were killed this morning but in separate confrontations.  The AP story said .  Julian Loisa Salinas, better known as “Comandante Toro,” was killed in the border city of Reynosa, across the border from McAllen, Texas and that the leader of the rival “Zetas” cartel in the Tamaulipas state capital of Ciudad Victoria was killed in a similar shootout further south. He was tentatively identified as Francisco “Pancho” Carreon.

The authorities said that people of Loisa Salinas burned the vehicles and blocked roads in Reynosa in an unsuccessful attempt to escape justice.

  In a second tweet, they reaffirmed that both men were key targets for the state and that they would not give rise to delinquency.

 ’Two key targets were shot down last night at #Reynosa and state center.   gobtam and Fuerzas Federales will not give a halt to fighting crime,’ they said.

  In another tweet, the authorities asked the population to be careful, as they will continue to carry out operations against criminal groups.

  In social networks, several of the residents reported closing in the streets and burning cars and shops. Several maquiladoras informed their workers that they did not go to the labor centers because they were blocked with public transport trucks that were stolen by criminal groups to make barricades.

To safeguard the road safety between Nuevo León and Tamaulipas, the Neolean prosecutor, Bernardo González Garza, explained that an operation is being implemented in the region.

 ’Yesterday we started an operation towards Reynosa and Laredo, taking care of both directions of the highway and to the limits of Nuevo Leon. We have knowledge of events in Tamaulipas’, explained in interview in MILENIO Television.

   González detailed that this is a support to the security work carried out by the Tamaulipan government.

  ‘Beyond the risk situations, we gladly support state security tasks and have people very prepared,’ he said.
