Tobey Maguire Joins ‘Life of Pi’ Movie Cast
Actor Tobey Maguire, 35, has joined the cast of film director Ang Lee’s adaptation of the Yann Martel novel Life of Pi, says The Hollywood Reporter. Maguire, who has taken the lead role in such big screen blockbusters as Spider-Man and Seabiscuit, will play only a small part as a reporter in the film.
Martel’s book tells the story of a 16-year-old Indian boy named Pi, who finds himself on a journey across the sea on a freighter bound for America. The boy meets with challenges after a shipwreck in the Pacific ocean leaves him on a life raft with an orangutan, hyena, and Bengal tiger.
Maguire will be seen next in the Baz Lurhmann adaptation of The Great Gatsby along with Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan, expected to be released sometime in 2012.
Tina Fey Expecting Child

Katherine Heigl Gets New HBO Project
Actress Katherine Heigl, 32, best remembered for her work as Dr. Isobel “Izzie” Stevens on the hit ABC medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, will be making her way back to television in an HBO production of the book The Knitting Circle. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Heigl will star in and produce the project, which is about a wife and mother grieving the death of her daughter who seeks comfort in a knitting circle with other women.
