Forgive and Forget 1984 genocide - indian home minister
AISSF & SFJ TO APPROACH UNITED NATIONS
Reasi: (Jammu) (June 26, 2011)
While Sikhs were mourning the recent discovery of Sikhs stoned to death inside Gurudwara Singh Sabha Talwara Colony, District Reasi, J&K, Home Minister P. Chidambaram told the Sikh community to move on from November 1984. On June 26, families of those killed at Gurudwara Singh Sabha Talwara Colony along with thousands of others had gathered to pay homage to those who were stoned to death at this site 26 years ago in November 1984. As part of the homage ceremony, organized by AISSF & SFJ, photos of those stoned to death in November 1984 were installed at the Gurudwara Singh Sabha Talwara Colony, District Reasi, J&K.
According to Karnail Singh Peermohammad, President AISSF, Home Minister Chidambaram’s statement asking a community who lost thousands of innocent member to “forgive” and “move on” while not a single leader has been sentenced, is virtually an “open license to kill” religious minorities and confirms India’s practice of impunity.
Citing the demolition of Babri Masjid, killing of Muslims in Gujarat, Christians in Orissa and continued extra judicial killings of Muslim in J & K, Peermohammad stated that it’s the denial of justice and accountability for November 1984 that encouraged the killing of other religious minorities in India with open impunity.
Home Minister’s statement on November 1984 asking the Sikhs to “forgive” and “build a new India” comes at a time when a stream of mass graves, wiped out localities and Gurudwaras burnt in November 1984 are being discovered across India, from Hondh-Chillar, Pataudi and Gurgaon in Haryana, Nangloi in Delhi, West Bengal and Reasi in J & K. Since February 2011 when the first Mass Grave of Sikhs was discovered in Hondh-Chillar, Haryana where a whole locality of Sikhs was burnt to death in November 1984, Indian Government has not responded to any of the discoveries.
Indian Government’s indifferent attitude towards providing justice to the survivors of November 1984 and instead counseling the Sikhs to “forgive” and “move on” adds insult to the injury, commented Davinder Singh Sodhi, Secretary General AISSF.
According to Bibi Jagdish Kaur, prime witness against Congress (I) leader Sajjan Kumar’s role in organizing deadly attacks on Sikhs in November 1984, Home Minister’s statement proves that Congress (I) leaders were responsible for the killing of Sikhs in November 1984. Home Minister’s appeal to Sikh community to “move on” is an utter disrespect to the victims of November 1984 and shows Indian Government’s indifferent attitude towards imparting justice to the Sikh community, added Jagdish Kaur.
Sikh for Justice (SFJ) who along with AISSF is pursuing battle to get justice for the victims and survivors of November 1984 announced that now with the Home Minister’s statement, Government of India has affirmed its intention of not prosecuting those who organized the systematic killing of Sikhs in November 1984.
The Government of India’s refusal to prosecute those responsible for November 1984 is a violation of fundamental human right and since India is never going to give justice to November 1984 victims, SFJ and AISSF announced that they will file a “1503 Petition” before U.N. Human Rights Commission. Violation of any of the human rights guaranteed by the Universal Declaration on Human Rights can be examined under “1503 PETITION”, by the United Nations.
In a statement issued from New York by attorney Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, who practices refugee and human rights law in United States and legal advisor to SFJ, in proceedings under “1503 Petition”, U.N. Human Rights Commission (UNHRC) can call witnesses, record testimony; receive documents and evidence related to human rights violations and killings. The Commission can also seek response from the country involved. As per attorney Pannun “1503 PETITION” is a very effective tool that United Nations have provided for the suppressed people of the world to approach the UN directly regarding human rights abuses and denial of justice.

INDIAN home minister should first DECLARE 1984 GENOCIDE as “GENOCIDE” and then move on to “forgiving” part……

They want to TRADE GENOCIDE!
Here we go again, the WOLVES are claiming that the WHOLE SIKHS are ready to forget everything
ever happened to SIKHS including GENOCIDE (if you can read between the lines) only and only if S. Bhullar is given clemency!
This is yet again well-planned and orchestrated move by ANTI-HR and ANTI-CR PEOPLE!
Sikhs condemn acts of terrorism and terrorists however “terrorism” propaganda
should not aim to assimilate minority ethnic community!
Sikhs believe,
“If DPS Bhullar is guilty, then he is guilty, if not then release him!“
