Overnight Israel’s military targeted 85 more “terror sites in Gaza”, the IDF reported. An Israeli airstrike has hit Hamas’ cabinet headquarters in Gaza as the Israeli assault enters its fourth day. Reportedly, three Palestinians died in the strike, the HQ was completely destroyed and neighboring houses damaged.

An Israeli peace activist says the Hamas military leader Ahmed Jabari, assassinated at the start of Israel’s offensive, was murdered amid talks on a long-term truce with Israel. For details, RT talks to peace activist Gershon Baskin.

Signs of an approaching full-scale war increased Friday afternoon, Nov. 16. The IDF obtained government approval to call up reserves in addition to the 30,000 already approved. Hospitals across the country were placed on emergency footing. The security cabinet meets urgently after 550 Palestinian rockets fired in three days. Jerusalem and Tel Aviv were targeted Friday by Hamas which reported firing two “homemade M-75” missiles each at Israel’s capital and commercial hub. There were no casualties in either town. Read more

DEBKAfile reported earlier Friday: As Hamas government officials greeted Egyptian Prime Minister Hesham Kandil on his arrival for a short visit to the Gaza Strip, Friday morning, Nov. 16, Palestinian rocket crews stepped up their barrage against Israel. After Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu acceded to Cairo’s request to suspend military action for the visit, air strikes were resumed over northern Gaza to counter Palestinians fire across the South: Dozens of rockets exploded in Beersheba, Ashdod, Hof Ashkelon, Ashkelon, Shear Hanegev, Ofakim, Sderot, Eshkol and Kiryat Malachi. There were several panic victims and direct hits to houses.

According to the DebkaFile, The first three Palestinian missiles reached the Tel Aviv conurbation, Gush Dan, Thursday night, Nov. 15. shortly after a long-range missile exploded in Rishon Lezion southeast of Tel Aviv and sirens sounded in outlying towns of Holon, Ness Ziona, Gan Raveh and Beer Yacov. None report casualties or damage. Defense Minister Ehud Barak has ordered 30,000 army reservists drafted. The IDF spokesmen earlier reported units of the elite paratroop and Givati Brigades were mustering outside the Gaza Strip.

Since Wednesday night, Israeli air strikes over Gaza have succeeded in eliminating Hamas’s military chief, destroyed most of its long -range Fajr missile stock and all but knocked out its capacity to launch them – and that’s just for starters,” Defense Minister Ehud Barak reported on a tour of southern areas targeted by Palestinian missiles with OC Southern Command Maj. Gen. Tal Rousso.

The Palestinians fired 50 rockets from Gaza Wednesday night, Nov. 14 – of which Iron Dome intercepted 17 – after an Israeli air assault killed the Hamas military chief Ahmed Jabari and destroyed dozens of missile sites. The rockets were fired at Beersheba, Ashdod and Eshkol, causing no casualties. Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi did not issue a statement on the Israeli operation, but recalled his ambassador from Tel Aviv and said Cairo would ask the UN Security Council to stop “Israeli aggression.” Read more

The Israeli air strikes that killed Hamas military leader Ahmed al-Jabari has started an all-out war between Hamas and Israel. It’s the worst escalation of violence since Israel launched its war on Gaza four years ago, and the international community is taking sides. Al Jazeera’s Caroline Malone explains.

“Israeli aircraft, tanks and naval gunboats pounded the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip on Thursday and rocket salvoes thudded into southern Israel, as terrified residents on both sides of the frontier holed up at home in anticipation of heavy fighting on the second day of Israel’s offensive against Islamic militants.

The operation, launched in response to days of rocket fire from the Palestinian territory, kicked off with the assassination of Hamas’ top military commander and deepened the instability gripping the Mideast. Israel’s already strained relations with Egypt’s new Islamist government frayed even further as Egypt recalled its ambassador Wednesday in response to the Israeli military operation.

Just days earlier, Israel was drawn into Syria’s civil war for the first time, firing missiles into its northern neighbor for the first time in four decades after stray mortar fire landed in Israeli-occupied Syrian territory.”*

Cenk Uygur provides an in-depth analysis about the disproportionate strike back against Hamas, “collateral damage,” and U.S. attitudes toward Israelis and Palestinians.

Israel’s carried out a wave of deadly rocket attacks on Gaza – and warned that a ground operation is also on the table. The attacks in response to rocket fire from Gaza killed at least 10 Palestinians, including the military leader of Hamas.

Eric Draitser, a geopolitical analyst for Stop Imperialismcom, thinks Israel’s actions are disproportionate, and the violence will spill over beyond Gaza’s borders.

RT LIVE http://rt.com/on-air

Israeli spokesperson Mark Regev says this kind of attack is “nothing new”, and that Israeli will “continue to hit the Hamas military machine”.

When asked whether all 15 Palestinians killed so far in the Israeli airstrikes were involved with the attacks on Israeli civilians, Regev said Israel “only targets militants” but unfortunately sometimes innocent civilians get caught in the crossfire.

Over the past 12 years, the residents of southern Israel have suffered over 12,000 rockets fired at them from the Gaza Strip. This is what their life has looked like over the years.

According to DebkaFile, The Mayor of Rishon Lezion has confirmed that a long-range missile exploded in his town, which lies southeast of Tel Aviv. He did not report casualties or damage. The Police Minister confirmed missile explosions and alerts outside Holon on the outskirts of Tel Aviv and the nearby towns of Ness Ziona, Gan Raveh and Beer Yaacov. The IDF spokesmen reports that units of the elite paratroop and Givati Brigades are mustering outside the Gaza Strip.

Israeli Defense Forces reports that over the past 24 hours, the IDF continued with Operation Pillar of Defense, targeting dozens of rocket launching sites, inflicting severe damage to the rocket launching capabilities of terror organizations operating in the Gaza Strip. In addition, IAF aircraft targeted several terrorist squads that were involved in firing rockets toward Israel.

The aim of targeting these sites is to impair the rocket launching capability of terror organizations in the Gaza Strip and hamper their continued build up.

Since the start of the operation the Israeli Air Force has targeted 300 terror activity sites in the Gaza Strip.

Additionally, Armored Forces targeted terror activity sites in the northern Gaza Strip.

This evening, Israeli Navy soldiers fired towards Hamas’ terror targets on the Gaza shore line.

Over the past few days, over 300 rockets were fired at Israeli communities. One rocket hit the central Israeli city Rishon Lezion, located approximately 60 km from the Gaza Strip.

Additionally, three Israelis were killed when a rocket hit their house.

RussiaToday reports that as Israel launched a full-scale attack on Gaza with frequent sounds of rockets still being heard in Gaza – killing 13 and injuring over 100 – Hamas vowed to avenge the Israeli strike and the assassination of its military leader Ahmed Jabari.

Hamas stated it will carry out a revenge plan on Israel by sending in suicide bombers and declaring a state of open war.

The commander’s assassination has “opened the gates of hell,” the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, were quoted by AFP as saying.

“The occupation committed a dangerous crime and crossed all the red lines, which is considered a declaration of war,”he said in a statement. Hamas vowed to ”continue the path of resistance.”

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has called for an immediate Arab League meeting in response to Wednesday’s attack.

Mosques across Gaza were packed with mourners vowing revenge. The streets outside the hospital where Jabari’s body was taken were filled with thousands of angry Palestinians chanting ”retaliation” and ”We want you to hit Tel Aviv tonight.” Among the mourners outside the Shifa hospital in Gaza City were armed men firing into the air.

Gaza’s Health Minister Dr. Mufeed Mkhallalati said a total of 10 people were killed, including Jabari. Fourty five people are reported injured, 10 of them are in critical condition.  An 11-month-old and a 6-year-old girl were among the dead.

Six rockets were fired from Gaza toward Beersheba following the airstrike on Wednesday evening, Israel’s Army Radio reported. One rocket hit a shopping center in the city, while there were other media reports that a vehicle was struck in the attack. No casualties were reported.

The Israeli Press Office said“The Iron Dome missile defense system has thus far intercepted 15 rockets fired at Israel.”

http://www.euronews.com/ Israel’s airforce has launched an attack on the home of a Hamas commander, despite a temporary halting of military action due to a visit to Gaza by Egypt’s prime minister Hisham Qandil.

The strike is retaliation for rockets being fired at southern Israel.

Tel Aviv had announced that it would suspend its military operation during the visit, but there are reports of an Israeli air strike on a house in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.

An Interior Ministry building belonging to Hamas has also been hit by a missile, reducing a large part of it to rubble.

The death toll has risen by two, making it 21 Palestinians who have lost their lives since Wednesday.

In addition to militants, those killed include children and a pregnant woman.

Sixteen thousand reservists have been called up by the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) and there is speculation of a possible ground assault, with reports of a build-up of troops near the border.

Three Israelis have been killed by rockets fired from Gaza, 70 kilometres to the south, which have hit Ashdod in southern Israel and also Tel Aviv. Palestinian militants claim to have launched hundreds.

A spokesman for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is blaming the failed ceasefire on Hamas and the message is that the military offensive, called the ‘Pillar of Defence’, will continue.

All Out War! 3 Missiles Hit Tel Aviv, Israeli Soldiers Mass Near Gaza Border, 30,000 Reservists Drafted < < < Its not Missiles @ Superman …just a 5 $ dollar home made rocket , ok , okay maybe 10 $… … why do U need 30,000 IDF invincible troops to Counter the Gaza Strip, the world's largest prison camp… unless… The real truth is covertly disguised… to boost Nuttanyahoo Elections ratings… Palestinians getting out of Gaza Strip have to ask for a preliminary autorization and they are never sure to be allowed to come back… Welcoming foreign visitors depends on israeli's goodwill…Even diplomats sometimes have great difficulties in getting these autorizations to enter Gaza Strip and at the border they too are often subject to searchings, questioning and humiliations from the Israeli soldiers at Eretz checkpoint, & Rafah border being very often closed for very long periods (blockade strategy) many Palestinians are frequently stuck at the border on Egyptian side… 2 cut the story short … Gaza remains a huge open-air prison & Israel doesn't Need 30,000 thousand Invincible IDF to control GAZA STRIP… Lies , Lies & LIES…

        O sorry its not superman….

        @ Alton Parrish ….

        – Not homemade rockets this time, as they used to do.
They have been getting higher-tech rockets from Iran that can travel greater distances & do more damage. One type was a 1,000-pound rocket, so definitely cost over $10.

BS jewed propaganda. No one reports how many Palestine kids got murdered by idf

      • Anonymous

the rocket attacks are the Palestinians ONLY way of protesting against the 60 year long occupation of their land responding to unprovoked Israeli attacks against and murder of Palestinian civilians.

    • Pix

Total propaganda BS. There is no war in Israel, other wise known as military occupied Palestine. Palestine does not have an army, a navy or an air force. What is going on there is a genocide of the native people, starved, denied medicine or clean water, crammed into little more than an open air prison.

Ding ding ding, we have a winner!

Hit the nail on the proverbial head there

Only after Palestinians publicly renounce all violence against Israel and their people with severe punishment by their own people against those that do, will the people of the world help them with their plight. Israel would then have no longer a reason for violence against them, being condemned internationally for any attacks. They would also have to allow other Arab nations to supply them aid and rebuilding costs. As with the rest of the world land ownership and national borders change after 60 years regardless who owned what before it will never change back and a generous compromise as in Europe over the centuries will have to be reached. The stronger country always having the upper hand. To renege on the none violent agreement would turn world option against them and probably the total destruction of anything gained and their people, a trap which would be foolish to fall into. Swallow your pride and take the best deal before you are destroyed as a people and a nation. Remember Jews prefer to trade rather than fight.

Even after IDF soldiers were target practicing with Palestinian children’s heads, Ahmed al-Jaberi was drafting a permanent peace treaty with the help of Egyptian mediators. Then he was assassinated in cold blood by Israel.

Oh, oops, those Palestinian bastards have the chutzpah to shoot back. Let’s murder them all and that’ll fix ‘em.

Self-defense, Bibi’s ass. Israel has unregulated nukes and chemicals up the wazoo and the Pals have pipes and fuses.

      • W. Willow

The jews profit significantly as the military industrial complex. If there is no war, their trade falls off. Now they have a piece of real estate to which their criminals can run to and not face prosecution. They are not going to give that up easily.

    • DaveB

Israel should take back Gaza and eliminate the Islamic terror for good.

      • Anonymous

        Amen.

    • Dr. Bob Uda, Ph.D., CM, CHSP, ILO

Israel should never sit back and take all of these provocative missiles hitting their soil. They should take proactive action and knock out the total leadership of Hamas and the Palestinians. It is all going to come to a head sooner or later. It would be better to be sooner than later.

It is amazing what a well-placed tactical nuke would do. Destroy their will to wage war and kill innocent civilians. What would the United States do if Mexico or Canada would start shooting missiles into the United States? We would not allow that to happen. We would quickly cut off the head of the aggressors.

Massive force is the way to go. That is what Israel should do to end it once and for all. If Iran jumps into the fray and actively fights for Hamas against Israel, that would give Israel the go-ahead to attack Iran and knock off all of their nuclear development sites with tactical nukes. Egypt also, with the Muslim Brotherhood stirring up trouble, will jump into the fray. That will give Israel the go-ahead to nuke Egypt and wipe out the leadership of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Why prolong the agony? Israel should end it all right now. Do not let them wipe Israel off the face of the map first as they have previously threatened. Take the offensive. After all, you were attacked first. You have right on your side. If you allow them to push you over now, you will never ever resolve this problem. The only thing they understand is force. Therefore, exercise it while you have it. If you don’t, it will be all over for you. It would just be a matter of time when you are either conquered or anihilated. The time is now.

      • Anonymous

“Massive force is the way to go.”

What is your PHD stand for? “Promote Hate Daily?” It happens every time they battle. Headlines scream about 3 Jews dead, but nobody talks about the 40 Palestinians who pay the price.

    • otis-a

Did I miss the punch line after Numbers 33:55
55But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.

    • fuzzy696

that as long as Israel and the Palestinians want to whip and lash each other, that’s their ‘proclivity’ and no amount of sane talk will dissuade them from their dysfunctional behavior.
It’s a pity that Israel, Hamas and the Palestinians have yet to realize that in the course of history and the Real politics of Superpowers ….. they are COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT!!

      • Patriot

I cannot say Israel has not done anything wrong over the years.
However, the violence of SOME trouble-makers among the Palestinians seems to make problems for them all, too.
Also, why is it only a matter of Israel being asked to give up land to the Palestinians?
Does nobody realize that the land “Palestine” included a large part of the present nation of Jordan, also? Oh yeah, look it up in the info about when it all began!
So, why does Jordan never offer any land to the Palestinians?
It is only Israel that ever did so — not even their muslims neighbors who took 1/2 of their land!

    • Anonymous

      Long Live Israel.

    • airspoon

It’s pretty hypocritical, but when Assad, Hussein or Gaddafi do something that’s not even a fraction of destructive, the whole establishment condemns them, Yet, here we tend to condemn the civilians getting bombed. But then again, when it comes to Israel, what isn’t hypocritical?

    • Patriot

If the Hamas chief was so eager for longterm peace, why were they shooting so many hundreds of rockets into Israel? — About 900 total this year!

    • Anonymous

Israel needs to go all out and destroy all the terrorists and removes them from Gaza. They need to wipe them out and be done with it. That land belongs to Israel. End of story

      • W. Willow

After Israel has done that then they can openly make their move to rule the world like they already do the USA and UK.

Do you like how it ends ?
