Video: Mosab Yousef: The Problem Is In the God of Islam

Mosab Hassan Yousef, son of one of the founders of Hamas, once president of the Islamic Youth Movement and now considered by many followers of the Qur’an to be a traitor (/israel/2010/04/the-courage-to-be-a-traitor-38179.html), is clearly on a mission to shake up billions of believers of Islamic ideology and here is the video in which he does it.

Yousef begins by stating: “The problem is in the God of Islam…this is shocking, but unfortunately it is a reality about this God.  He is a God of torture, the deceit God. This is what he talks about himself.”  

“Every Muslim who reads the Qur’an and allows themselves to listen to this Qur’an and believe at the same time this is from God, I think they are sick.”

This ten minute video is going to make many Muslims angry, but many non-Muslims have been waiting for this day when someone who came from an Islamic family would have the courage to speak out in spite of the fatwas on his head. Yousef speaks of the Prophet Muhammad’s God, Allah and his words in the Qur’an that speak of hate and killing and he compares it to his chosen belief in Christianity that is filled with a loving, forgiving God.

The Qur’an was written with no allowance for changes whatsoever, not a word or a phrase and enforces it with a blasphemy law against criticism and a possible punishment of death. Based on Yousef’s words, he will marked for life.

The timing of this combination of interviews with Yousef is most important in light of the recent activities in the U.N. for global blasphemy law. Yousef’s courageous critique of believers of the Qur’an also makes the distinction of Muslims who will open their ears to what he is saying. “Understand your religion before you are offended.”
