When I ask myself what other utility stacking millions of tons of rock would provide I can come up with two answers.
The first is a working economy or system of social control where labor is consistently utilized and regulated.
The second is when you have a big pile of bricks you have created a an early type of bank.
What else could you store that is easy to defend, hard to steal (this is why the bricks were so big) and doesn’t perish with time, and allows you flexibility with your labor?
Storing bricks allows you to quickly construct whatever you want With a brick surplus you can then allocate labor to other problems say conquest, farming, trade or other more profitable activities lowering your overall costs.
We know that in history many of these carved stones have been used and reused many times in different structures. A big stone doesn’t need a facility to store, or guards. It’s already millions of years old so it wont get old or perish. It’s perfect for “savings”.
The video is totally ridiculous, the outer stones fell off during a major earthquake which is well documented, they were used as building materials by the locals. They were originally built from the inside using an internal spiral passage way, recently discovered by a French engineer. The Kings chamber and passage housed the mechanism that pulled the stones up to the higher levels. They constructed the outside edge first and then infilled the rest.
