House Report Concluded Pakistanis Made ‘Unauthorized Access’ To Congressional Servers

House investigators concluded that Democratic IT aides made unauthorized access to congressional servers in 2016, allegedly accessing the data of members for whom they did not work, logging in as members of Congress themselves, and covering their tracks, according to a presentation summarizing the findings of a four-month internal probe.

Their behavior mirrored a “classic method for insiders to exfiltrate data from an organization,” and they continued even after orders to stop, the briefing materials allege. There are indications that numerous members’ data may have been secretly residing not on their designated servers, but instead aggregated onto one server, according to the briefing and other sources. Authorities said that the entire server was then physically stolen.

When acting on the findings, Democratic leadership appear to have misrepresented the issue to their own members as solely a matter of theft, a comparison of the investigators’ findings with Democrats’ recollections and a committee’s public statement shows, leading 44 Democrats to not conduct protective measures typically taken after a breach — including informing constituents whose personal information may have been exposed. (A list of the involved members is below.)

The presentation, written by the House’s Office of the Inspector General, reported under the bold heading “UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS” that “5 shared employee system administrators have collectively logged into 15 member offices and the Democratic Caucus although they were not employed by the offices they accessed.”

It found indications that a House “server is being used for nefarious purposes and elevated the risk that individuals could be reading and/or removing information” and “could be used to store documents taken from other offices.” The server was that of the House Democratic Caucus, a sister group of the DNC that was run at the time by then-Rep. Xavier Becerra.

The aides named are Imran Awan, his wife Hina Alvi, his brothers Abid and Jamal, and his friend Rao Abbas, Pakistani-born aides whose lives are filled with reason for concern. Abid’s Ukranian wife Natalia Sova and Haseeb Rana were also involved in the Awans’ activities but departed the House payroll prior to the investigation.

One systems administrator “logged into a member’s office two months after he was terminated from that office,” the investigative summary says.

While the rules could have been violated for some innocuous purpose, the presentation indicates that is unlikely: “This pattern of login activity suggests steps are being taken to conceal their activity.”

A second presentation shows that shortly before the election, their alleged behavior got even worse. “During September 2016, shared employee continued to use Democratic Caucus computers in anomalous ways:

Logged onto laptop as system administrator
Changed identity and logged onto Democratic Caucus server using 17 other user account credentials
Some credentials belonged to Members
The shared employee did not work for 9 of the 17 offices to which these user accounts belonged.”
The investigation found “possible storage of sensitive House information outside the House … Dropbox is installed on two Caucus computers used by the shared employees. Two user accounts had thousands of files in their Dropbox folder on each computer.” Using Dropbox is against House rules because it uploads files offsite.

The Washington Post referenced the presentation in July, and quoted a House source who claimed that the server was full of the Awan children’s “homework” and “family photos.” The presentation offers reasons to doubt that. “Based on the file names, some of the information is likely sensitive,” it reads.

The statements of numerous Democrats indicate that the Democratic staff of the House Administration Committee and other House officials may have withheld information about cybersecurity breaches from members who employed the suspects, and appear to have misled them about the basic nature of the investigation.

“This is the first I’ve heard about that,” said Missouri Democratic Rep. Emmanuel Cleaver — who employed almost every member of the Awan group — of cybersecurity issues.

“The only thing I’m aware of is that he’s being charged with bank fraud,” Democratic Rep. Joaquin Castro, who employed Jamal and is a member of the intelligence committee, told TheDCNF. “Do you have evidence that there’s anything more than a bank investigation? If someone’s given you a document to that effect, please give it to me.”

In early February, House Sergeant-At-Arms Paul Irving, Chief Administrative Officer Phil Kiko, and Jamie Fleet, the Democratic staff director of the Committee on House Administration, summoned affected chiefs of staff to a meeting to announce that the family was being banned from the network. Republican staff was not present, and the briefers omitted all mention of the cybersecurity component that appears to comprise the most dangerous part of the findings, according to numerous Democrats’ accounts.

Michael,
“I Went Up to the Mountain”
I went up to the mountain, both Mountains
Because you asked me to
Up over the clouds
To where the sky was blue
I could see all around me
Everywhere
I could see all around me
Everywhere
Sometimes I feel like
I’ve never been nothing but tired
And I’ll be walking
Till the day I expire
Sometimes I lay down
No more can I do
But then I go on again
Because you ask me to

Some days I look down
Afraid I will fall
And though the sun shines
I see nothing at all
Then I hear your sweet voice, oh
Oh, come and then go, come and then go
Telling me softly
You love me so

The peaceful valley
Just over the mountain,both Mountains
The peaceful valley
Few come to know
I may never get there
Ever in this lifetime
But sooner or later
It’s there I will go
Sooner or later
It’s there I will go

From: “Oracle Report” <<a href=”mailto:[email protected]” target=”_blank”>[email protected]>
Date: Apr 20, 2018 9:25 AM Crescent Moon Phase: persevere

Moon in Gemini/moves to Cancer at 10:27 am ET/2:27 pm UT

Big weekend, big report:

The Sun has moved into Taurus, discharging the refreshing energy of “a clear mountain stream” on Friday.  The direction, answer, or information becomes clear if we are willing to follow where the “changes in the stream” are taking us.  Allowing room to change course is advised.

The Moon is moving into Cancer, squaring all of the planets in Aries, and opposing all of the planets in Capricorn: Saturn, Mars, Pluto, and, yes, the Black Moon.  We have Black Moon Days this weekend.

We prepare ourselves for intensity, knowing all the while that the events that happen and the things that come to light are all in service to REBIRTH and RENAISSANCE.  The Black Moon rebirths.

All of humanity is blanketed by these energetics over the next three days, but if the Sun, Black Moon or Chiron were in Cancer, Capricorn when you were born, this weekend is going to be an even bigger one for you.  It is one of the strongest times during your current nine-month process of the death of your old self and the rebirth of your new self.  (The nine-month transit ends on August 6, 2018, at 2:54 am ET, in case you are counting.)

When the Moon is aspecting all of these planets, all kinds of things happen in the world and in our lives.  There is cosmic action to “grow consciousness.”

That’s the purpose of astrology: to grow consciousness.  Astrology influences the order or sequence of the growth.

The order or sequence over the next few days goes like this:

FRIDAY, APRIL 20, 2018 (4/20, which, by the way is Hitler’s birthday.  Did Sauron promote the notion of 4/20?  He is certainly interested in controlling the hemp/medicinal market now.  More on that another time.):

10:44 am ET/2:44 pm UT: MOON SQUARE CHIRON - The energetics show us that it is time to put something down in order to take up something new.  (Moon discharges 01 Cancer – “on a ship, the sailors lower an old flag and raise a new one” – more flags and ships – repeating themes this month).

SATURDAY, APRIL 21, 2018

1:49 am ET/5:49 am UT: MOON OPPOSES SATURN - Any difficulties that arise are cutting away the old to begin faceting brilliant new features.  (Moon at “a large diamond in the first stages of the cutting process.”)  Facets enable light to shine and dazzle.  The “real” comes through.  Also, control issues could reach epic levels with this.

5:08 pm ET/9:08 pm UT: MOON OPPOSES BLACK MOON - Relationships are the primary focus with this aspect.  Truth outs.  Issues related to commitment/lack of commitment, freedom/restriction, and anything that is out of balance comes up. (Moon at “a priest performing a marriage ceremony.”)  If you are feeling overburdened or laden with responsibilities, you are feeling the Black Moon discharging “a child of about five carrying a huge shopping bag filled with groceries.”  Restore balance to that by making your inner child happy in some way.  Rest is also very important when the Black Moon is involved.

6:36 pm ET/10:36 pm UT: MOON OPPOSES MARS - Anger and the other side of the coin, depression, that may have been building up seeks release.  It is best to do something active to release this energy instead of unleashing it onto others.  Mars needs to move.  Taking a walk, doing some yoga, or punching a pillow channels the energy of Mars.  There may be elements of manipulation going on.  (Moon at “Venetian gondoliers in a serenade.”  More water and boats…) Listening to music may be very helpful.  (Mars at “a hidden choir singing during a religious ceremony.”  Another religious/ceremonial symbol.)

10:21 pm ET/Sunday 2:21 am UT: MOON OPPOSES PLUTO - This one could cause a myriad of reactions.  For the most part, interpersonally the energy pushes feelings that life is passing us by, that things will never change, or that we will never be happy again. (Moon at “a young woman awaiting a sailboat.”  Another boat.)  But it is THOSE FEELINGS that are undergoing renovation.  Hopelessness surfaces so that hope may be gained.  The old feelings and old control systems ae falling.  This causes grief for a perceived loss.  We have the good memories of the past.  Now its time to regain the lost opportunities.  (Pluto at “a general accepts defeat gracefully.”)

The Moon will move out of Cancer and into Leo on Monday, April 22 at 1:09 pm ET/5:09 pm UT, ending the Black Moon time.  The Moon will square Uranus before it moves out of Cancer, but we will look at that Monday.

Most readers read the report and find they do not remember much of it throughout the day.  The report always makes more sense at the end of the day.  You may want to keep this one handy as a reference guide throughout the weekend.  This report is written in hopes of helping to navigate down “a clear mountain stream.”

Here’s to clarity, coming down the mountain, and going with the stream.

At least one worker is dead and three others are injured after the station tower of Ozarks Public Television's KOZK-TV collapsed in Fordland, Mo., KYTV-TV of Springfield, Mo., has reported.
KYTV said the tower collapsed Thursday morning (April 19) while a crew of seven was working on it.
The noncommercial station is a PBS affiliate owned by Missouri State University.
That station is being repacked from channel 23 to channel 16, according to the National Association of Broadcasters, and is in the FCC's first phase of stations needing to move to new channels — the move must be completed by the end of this year.

Whether the tower work was related to the repack had not been determined, though there will be much tower work involved in a move affecting most of a thousand stations.
The station had a 2,000-foot tower built in 2003, according to the NAB.
KOZK executives were not available for comment at press time, but the Springfield News-Leader quoted MSU spokeswoman Andrea Mostyn at the scene as saying the station was "conducting some tower…modifications to comply with some FCC changes to channels."
According to an automatic e-mail response, Ozark's chief engineer was scheduled to be out of the office until April 23.
NAB has expressed concerns about safety with so much tower work needed to meet the repack deadlines.
Suzanne Shaw, VP for marketing and communications for Missouri State University, confirmed that the crew was working on repack-related equipment issues rather than routine maintenance. "They were adding reinforcements to accommodate the new equipment associated with channel repacking," she said.Shaw said the crew was working at about the 105 ft.-level of the 1,980 ft. tower when they sensed something was wrong and were getting off the tower when it collapsed. She said there were six crew members working on the tower, with one fatality–one crew member was caught under the tower–and minor injuries to others, though she said they were non-life threatening and that they had all been released from a local hospital. The university was reaching out to the family of the killed worker and providing support to the other members of the crew, giving them transportation and working with them on arranging their trip home–they are based in Washington State. She said the crew was from a subcontractor for a larger tower company.Shaw said KOZK-TV remains off the air, and that the collapse also affected the NOAH weather station, but not KSMU, the university radio station, which was not co-located. Shaw said she had no estimate on when the station would be back on the air, but said they were talking with local broadcasters to partner with them in some way.
