The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) being basically the supreme defence council and promoter of Jewish interests is supportive of the de-platforming of as many as 200,000 VK users. The Russian-based equivalent to Facebook has until February been far more laid back about what users post than does its Facebook rival.

The ADL line claims the need to eliminate hate speech. This is a bit rich coming from a body notoriously supportive of the state of Israel, the world’s most unpopular state because of its hate vendettas against the Palestinian peoples and anti-Zionists.

An edited version of their account says, ‘even as mainstream social media companies struggle to eliminate anti-Zionist content and users from their platforms, the opportunities of scale and reach provided by these platforms continue to be weaponised by political revisionists.’

The ADL hate-filled comment goes on the claim, that ‘mainstream companies increase their content moderation efforts to clamp down on hate; extremists are migrating to other platforms.’

As the better informed know, just as the term ‘anti-semitic’ is used to de-platform anyone opposed to Israel’s anti-Palestinian pogroms, the positive term ‘truth’ has become the new hate speech.

ADL script: ‘Ethno-Patriots (White supremacists) are relatively easy to find on mainstream sites like Facebook and Twitter, despite those companies’ pledges to de-platform extremists (anyone hostile to migrants and globalism). It’s common to see white supremacists complaining about spending 30 days in Facebook jail, referring to having their accounts suspended for content violations. Twitter doles out similar suspensions for violating its terms of service.

VK, which is short for VKontakte, launched in 2006, and before the recent purge of politically incorrect subscribers had more than 500 million active registered accounts worldwide.

The majority of white patriots profiles found on VK identify as being from Europe, Russia, or the United States. The ADL goes on to cherry-pick examples of memes posted by rednecks, skinheads and Hollywood Nazis, who are totally unrepresentative of the estimated 200,000 VK users whose accounts were closed.

Under their ‘terms of service’, VK claims to remove any content containing the following: ‘hostile statements or symbols, such as the swastika, or threats of violence, including those made on the basis of or targeting religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical or mental disabilities and illnesses’ as well as anything that promotes the victimization, humiliation or harassment of another person, including that which is motivated by racism, homophobia or sexism.’ Like this story?
