Iran News: Punch Threat And Twitter Iran Protests Tweets, Tehran Blocks Gmail Video

New York, NY – The Islamic Revolution anniversary has been marked by protests in Tehran, Iran.  The long awaited February 11, 2010 Islamic Revolution anniversary has recently been marked by threats by Iranian Leader’s including Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. 

Twitter Iran is abuzz with reports of anti government protests as well as updates on the government blocking of google’s Gmail email service in Iran.

Iran’s telecommunications agency announced what it described as a permanent suspension of Google Inc.’s email services, saying a national email service for Iranian citizens would soon be rolled out.

It wasn’t clear late Wednesday what effect the order had on Gmail services in Iran, or even if Iran had implemented its new policy. Iranian officials have claimed technological advances in the past that they haven’t been able to execute.

Iran News of late included threats of a punch to the western world by the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei  :

“The Iranian nation, with its unity and God’s grace, will punch the arrogance (Western powers) on the 22nd of Bahman (February 11) in a way that will leave them stunned,” Khamenei, who is also Iran’s commander-in-chief, told a gathering of air force personnel.
