Rainbow Over Tel Aviv

It is winter in Israel and rain and wind storms have filled the last four days. In between these days of blessed rain in Israel, maybe even too much blessed rain that halted normal activities, the sun came through the clouds and brought with it a brilliant rainbow over Tel Aviv. Then as quickly as it appeared, it disappeared, leaving the skies dark and foreboding again. These moments of sunshine and rainbow turned to a torrential storm with sheets of raindrops blinding one’s vision, hi-velocity winds that howled around the buildings and hurled loose objects across the terraces of the apartment buildings, and even several pelleted the city with pellets of ice.

But the moments of sunshine and rainbow brought with it thoughts of optimism in the midst of concern for peace between Israel and the people of Palestine. Here are two of my pictures
