Israel Taken Off The Map

People take maps for granted. We have come to trust them, categorizing them as ‘non-fiction’ resources. What most people do not realize is mapmakers are not obligated to make maps that reflect any kind of reality. In fact, mapmakers can add or remove anything they — or their clients, want.

Collins Bartholomew, a subsidiary of publishing giant, Harper Collins, publishes english-language atlases for clients in the Gulf that show Israel completely removed from the landscape of the Middle East. According to a report by the UK telegraph, this is purely a business move on the part of Harper Collins as this is what their clients want however, ethically, there is no question this is a blatant act of propaganda and Harper Collins is participating in it specifically for profit and many of these Israel’less atlases are official text books used in some Middle Eastern schools.
