Netanyahu, Israel, and the LGBT

Back on February 23^rd Benjamin Netanyahu spoke before the Knesset and purportedly, in some eyes, was supportive of homosexuality on “LGBT Day.” I must humbly admit that such was my original thought too upon hearing about his address.

Even Jonathan Kahn tweeted about this, though without making any comment. His tweet was nothing more than just an open acknowledgement of the Jerusalem Post’s article about it. Understandably so too, for this has been troubling me since it happened and I must admit that I’ve been looking and waiting for someone somewhere like Jonathan Kahn to speak about this and share their prayerful insight. Yet for almost two weeks it has been eerily silent out there. I find that peculiar since we all know that Netanyahu has been quite an impressive statesman who boldly confronted the nations of the world at the UN regarding their hypocrisy towards Israel and for their constant blaming them for the lack of peace in the Middle East.

So how does this happen? Was Benjamin Netanyahu suddenly bowing to political pressure regarding the LGBT?

In the United States we all watched Netanyahu, who even without the full support of many in his own government, stand up before Congress for what was right regarding Obama’s insane nuclear deal with Iran and listened to him systematically defend Israel as America’s closest ally. That he did boldly knowing full well the position, power, and obvious disdain President Obama holds for him and has towards Israel; a president who has openly mocked and tried at every turn to hinder Netanyahu politically and has done nothing except persistently opposed Israel’s exercising its sovereign right to defend itself against all enemies. Yet this POTUS has tirelessly sought to please and make friends with any and all of Israel’s enemies; regardless of the enormous cost in terms of both safety and economics of the American citizenry.

However, we all know Israel’s enemies openly and proudly raise their kids to have an absolute hatred for Israel and to esteem the annihilation of Israel as their religious duty; and that killing a Jew is worth dying for. Yet despite the fact their enemies don’t even try to hide their enraged hatred for the Jews, Israel is the one that constantly suffers international condemnation as the gross offender of human rights in the Middle East. Yet there is no other country over there where Arabs and Muslims in all economic classes enjoy such a measure of freedom and liberty as they are afforded in Israel… so long as they’re actively not trying to destroy the country. And of course, we are referencing the Arab and Muslim citizenry of Israel.

Furthermore, Bibi Netanyahu is of Maccabean descent, a fact which I have always found to be noteworthy since they were noted for their bravery and willingness to boldly stand up, regardless the odds, against their enemies. So again, I have found this all a bit troubling to say the least. For I know that God is going to seriously chastise Israel again before Jesus returns, for as the scripture says, “judgment begins in the house of the Lord.”

The fact that Tel Aviv is considered the Mecca of the Middle East certainly isn’t earning them any favor with God, but rather verifying the condemning words of the angel who when speaking of the death of the two witnesses to the Apostle John called Jerusalem “Sodom and Egypt.”

Revelation 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

If Jerusalem is spiritually called “Sodom,” then I think it is safe to call Tel Aviv “Gomorrah.”

That said, my initial reaction (and I did react) was to wonder if this was going to be a turning point which brought about the frustration of God’s grace towards Israel? What I mean by that is I seriously wondered is Netanyahu’s words (which I initially perceived to be supportive to the LGBT) was going to result in God chastising Israel now by allowing the nations to achieve a solid and unified coalition against Israel and begin the ushering in of the prophetic passages of scripture, such as Psalm 83, Ezekiel, and Zechariah?

Surely these things are going to come to past, and anyone seeking to have accurate prophetic discernment and therefore is watching and praying should be concerned by all this. Especially when such a noble statesman of Israel like Netanyahu who has stood before the nations of the world and openly rebuked them, but now seems to be bowing to the LGBT agenda? However, after humbling myself with prayer and much reconsideration I am persuaded that is not even close to what happened on Febuary 23rd.

For this is what the Jerusalem Post reported concerning Benjamin Netanyahu’s address.

“Addressing the plenum, Netanyahu said: “I know that there were important and lengthy discussions today, and I came here in the middle of my schedule, which was no less busy, to say one sentence to the members of the LGBT community: Every man was created in the image of God. That is the idea brought by our nation to mankind thousands of years ago, and it is the principle that must guide our national lives today.”"

He clearly says he came “to say one sentence to the members of the LGBT community: Every man was created in the image of God.” However, is that an indorsement of the LGBT or an admonition against them? Furthermore, Netanyahu equally addressed all the government of Israel when he stated, “It is the principle that must guide our NATIONAL lives today.”

For man, being created in the image of God, has been given the responsibility to be His glory in the earth and to walk so as to uphold those attributes and virtues whereby He alone is worthy of all men’s praise and worship. This can be seen no clearer than in God giving to Israel the oracles of God and His holding them responsible to both live by and uphold them.

Deuteronomy 14:2 – For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto Himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.

Deuteronomy 26:18 – And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be His peculiar people, as He hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all His commandments; 19 And to make thee high above all nations which He hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour; and that thou mayest be an holy people unto the LORD thy God, as He hath spoken.

But what happens when those who are called of God to be His glory choose to willfully sin? Or those to who such oracles were committed fail to uphold them nationally? Judgment comes. When will Israel learn? But God’s judgment never comes without prior warning and the word of the Lord being spoken to the people, reminding them of their NATIONAL responsibility to be holy and walk worthy of His name. For though God desires mercy and not judgment, where His word is continually rejected He will have judgment without mercy.

For let’s look at the scriptural context of those words Netanyahu quoted to the LGBT community and members of his own government from Gods word-

Genesis 1:26 – And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Netanyahu gave them the word of the Lord that clearly states “God made man in His image,” but the continuance of that word which he did not speak is that “male and female created He them and God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it.”

So how can the LGBT community do this except they repent? Because, like it or not, the following is true -

Man + man = confusion, inevitable extinction, and God’s curse

Woman + woman = confusion, inevitable extinction, and God’s curse

Only man and woman, becoming one flesh together in holy union can adorn the doctrine of God our Savior. For only a man and a woman can naturally, according to God’s wisdom and design, be “fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth….”

I have come to believe that Benjamin Netanyahu was once again divinely given the right words to say to the enemies in God’s own house, and that God will surely hold them all responsible for their hearing or not hearing thereof. Even the Apostle Paul and Jesus Himself at times quoted brief passages of scripture, leaving it upon the hearers to seek the truth out in its context. So will they seek out Netanyahu’s word in the context to which God originally gave it unto them? Hopefully, but not likely.

This may or may not be that inevitable prophetic sign of the deliverance of that final word of warning that is sure to come, a word that will clearly mark the frustration of God’s grace with Israel. But, believing all things and hoping all things, I have settled it in my heart that God is definitely still working both in and for this one man, Benjamin Netanyahu. I believe that he is not far from the salvation of the Lord.

I’ll leave you with the following verses spoken by the Apostle Paul which once stood as a prophetic and sound condemnation against Israel just prior to her judgment is 70 A.D.-

Romans 1:16 – For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
