DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. October 10, 2016, 10:26 PM (IDT)

President Vladimir Putin on a visit to Istanbul signed a string of strategic deals with his counterpart Tayyip Edrogan Monday. They covered the Turkish Stream gas pipeline to Europe under the Black Sea, agreements on bilateral economic political and defense ties, and Moscow’s consent to lift restrictions on Turkish agricultural exports. The two leaders also agreed to intensify military contacts, after discussing Syria, the Aleppo crisis and Turkey’s Euphrates Operation i.e. invasion of northern Syria.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
