British PM Theresa May Friday rejected Russian allegations that the MI6 Secret Service was involved in creating the alleged the Russian “dirty dossier” against President-elect Donald Trump. Former British spy Christopher Steele, its alleged author, went into hiding after the disputed dossier made headlines.
May said that Steele had not worked for British intelligence “for years.” She denied Russia’s London embassy claim that Steele still worked for MI6, and his “briefing worked both ways” against Trump and Moscow.
Trump himself dismissed its claims that he had been cosying up to Vladimir Putin and using Russian prostitutes. He call them “fake news” and “phoney stuff.”
Trump said that US Intelligence Chief Clapper had called and denounced “the false and fictitious report that was illegally circulated'.
Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
