DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. September 13, 2017, 8:10 AM (IDT)

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told reporters in Buenos Aires Tuesday night that he has no intention of calling an early election or quitting political life. He was answering questions about his plans in the wake of police probes against him and the expected coalition crisis over the Supreme Court’s annulment of the draft law amendment which grants yeshiva students exemption from military service. The court gave the Knesset a year’s grace to correct the amendment and bring it in line with constitutional values

Netanyahu vowed to lead his Likud party to another victory in the 2019 general election. He also sharply denied reports that Israel was quietly lobbying the Trump administration to retain the 2015 nuclear accord with Iran. “Our position has never changed,” he stressed. “That nuclear deal with Iran was a bad deal. It should either be revised on revoked.”

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
