if you will consider…there was an actual explosion…..a very large fire…..in those detonations in Utah and Colorado. (Also there was at least one in Mississippi.)

In a fire…many contaminants are incinerated. This was not the case at Fukushima. No fire…contaminants still here.

Savage, unfortunately with radiation, what you say – while it sounds like it should be logical – is not how radiation works. Most bombs are excessively clean, compared to ‘safe nuclear’, like power plants. ‘Dirty radiation’ is radiation that in it’s ‘layman discussion’ form, ‘hangs around’. Nuclear bombs are designed to fission (or much better, fusion), split into their expected short half-life components, further decay and leave the area. In a bomb, the dust, or irradiated fallout, is what actually gets you (if the initial blast didn’t). That’s why most ‘safe guidelines’ normally factor water in the form of precipitation into the ‘safe’ calculation, as the rain helps cleanse and stabilize the dust from things. It also helps with a minor amount of ionization too. Wind helps disperse and ‘dillute’ as well. You don’t get ANY OF THIS from a failed powerplant burning it’s core into the earth. Dillution doesn’t work when the cores are hot, still there, still pouring out fissile particles, and you keep pouring more seawater on it to also make it radioactively hot. You don’t get it – you can walk within the ground zero of most 1st world bomb detonation sites within a month after detonation, and be relatively safe to be there. You are NOT safe near a meltdown 20-years later, not a bad one, ESPECIALLY if it is still cooking.

This is the problem – combined with the fuel for a bomb is NOT the same element(s) used as with energy production, nor is it as dirty when reactive. Again, TPTB have relied on years of double-speak, cross-talk, mis-information, and a couple of ‘expert government nuclear guys’ to discredit, confuse or mislead the public into ‘safe nuclear’ while moving the perceived blame of ‘dirty nuclear’ over to the ‘not expected to be used here’ nuclear bomb. It worked, as what you say shows.

Don’t believe it – the worst nuclear event you can ever have is an open, hot core out of a modern nuclear powerplant, continue to uncontrollably fission after reactor damage. We have that, times 2, maybe 3, (TEPCO won’t say) and too many keep on thinking ‘we’re safe, or the government would have told us’. Just remember, if it is a known loss, they WILL NEVER TELL YOU, merely evacuate critical structures and personnel, and let the rest crumble. Your better bet? Figure out what is actually critical in your area and watch it for ‘quiet emptying of critical infrastructure’. Maybe a government research facility, a national museum holding key documents, etc. Careful – they won’t close that facility, or leave the museum empty, they will only take the key parts that are irreplaceable (think Mona Lisa, Liberty Bell irreplaceable), and knowing even these missing could set people off, it is high-publicity of an item, duplication with a fake is not beyond question.

Sound insane? I don’t know – how does ‘too hot to live there for 1000 years, can’t scare the whole West Coast to evacuate 3 states of 90 million people because we don’t want them moving east, so we’ll just let them die of radiation poison where they live, unwarned’ sound to you?
