Why Everybody Hates Republicans Part 1

Is the Republican Party in a world of hurt? You bet they are. The Republican National Committee itself admits people tend to think the party of “stuffy old men” is “narrow minded,” and “out of touch.”

I agree.

And the escalating hatred of the conservative movement (who backs the party with religious fervor) toward libertarians isn’t helping one bit.

They Really Don’t Like Libertarians

ZoNation on PJTV (there will be no link) goes off on some racist and tars him with the Libertarian brush. It may be true. It may be false. I didn’t bother to look. But what I saw in the comments was a vile excoriation of libertarians in general.

Well as you know I’m done with “conservatives”. If they don’t want my support they will not get it. Eff ‘em. Let them win elections without me.

Being written by a libertarian who’s been a long-time conservative ally, this made me curious. So I looked up AlfonZo’s rant and, all I can say is … Wow.

He doesn’t simply go off on “some racist” though. Nope. Not at all. AlfonZo goes full-on SPLC and smears libertarians as racists. That’s right, racists.

Vilifying the character and motives of people with whom you disagree (in this case, people AlfonZo doesn’t even understand) is a tired old leftwing smear tactic. Why would he, or any conservative for that matter, so willingly embrace such vile nonsense?

You’d think conservatives would know better by now, but apparently not. The “Ransom-Note Method” is alive and well on the modern conservative right.

Bothered by AlfonZo’s cheap smear merchant act, I had to know more, eventually finding a longer version of the video at PJTV (not linking). What disturbed AlfonZo was an exchange that took place at a CPAC panel entitled “Trump the Race Card: Are You Sick and Tired of Being Called a Racist and You Know You’re Not one?”

No, I didn’t make that up. The sponsoring Tea Party Patriots came up with that rather strange name all by themselves.

Anyway, whatever actually happened at CPAC doesn’t seem to disturb AlfonZo so much as provide him an opportunity for him to launch into a tirade against libertarians in general. You see, according to AlfonZo, libertarians are racists for the sole reason that many libertarians don’t like Abraham Lincoln. It’s that simple, really.

Based on this “logic,” AlfonZo must have forgotten to mention that conservatives who don’t like Obama are a bunch of racists too.

Fun, isn’t it?

On top of the stupid race-baiting game, I haven’t been able to find a single shred of evidence that would lead me to believe these idiots from CPAC are actually libertarian. But then again, why would AlfonZo’s Poverty Law Center let something like that get in the way of a good old fashioned smear? The Southern Poverty Law Center certainly wouldn’t. Come to think of it, the SPLC hates libertarians too!

I have to wonder how long it’ll be before Zo makes a video attacking Walter Williams as racist.

Oh, and there’s more …

Last month at the Students for Liberty Conference, the virtuous and always courtly Ann Coulter called libertarians “pussies.”

Yeah, this from the macho He-Woman who stumped for the Massachusetts Liberal and grandpappy of ObamaCare. Gimme a friggin’ break. The welfare state sure took one helluva blow when the Supreme Court cited RomneyCare as a determining factor in their decision to uphold ObamaCare, huh?

Ann Coulter has balls, alright. That is, if being a professional troll who talks out of both sides of her mouth while sucking up to power-hungry Republicrats is the definition of “manly.”

The Republican Party — an organization whose sole purpose is to gain and exercise political power — has many problems of its own to overcome before they can hope to “win” more elections. Having a base constituency focused on vitriol against anyone and everyone they hate (did I mention everyone?) isn’t helping … and perhaps one of the reasons why Establishment lackeys like Karl Rove think attacking the Tea Party movement will work to their advantage.
