It Happens a Second Day! CNN Anchors Pretend They’re Having A “Satellite Interview” Even Though They’re In The Same Parking Lot

After CNN anchors Asleigh Banfield and Nancy Grace on May 7 appeared to be purposefully misleading people to think they were reporting from different places when in fact they were close to each other but on separate screens, Banfield and Grace did it again on May 8!

Banfield and Grace were going back and forth between two breaking news stories–one about the Ohio kidnapping case, and the other about the verdict in the Jodi Arias case. They are both outside the Pheonix, Arizona courthouse where Arias was sentenced.

The Atlantic Wire analyzes the case: 

(First shot) “Unlike Tuesday, we have a much stronger sense of how they’re oriented. The solution can be seen in this animated image. Watch the car behind Grace’s head as it turns left — then comes into view behind Banfield!”

Futher: (second shot)  ”In the background of CNN’s shots of Banfield, we can also see what appears to be the steps leading up to the courthouse.”

There’s no clear reason why CNN is doing this, or why Banfield and Grace have agreed to it! The media outlet didn’t respond to requests for explanation from the Wire, which postulates that perhaps it’s in Grace’s contract, because she apparently anchors a special “Headline News” area of CNN, to not appear on screen with Banfield.
