Continuing with email responses.....Muany Ki fact or fraud?

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

A while ago I wrote on this “class”. Many people have taken the classes and swear that they have the ancient rites of Mayans. They have no such thing, as these do not exist. The Native American community has spoken out against the class and its’ intentions, rites etc….to no avail.

The NA community among others, has pointed out many issues in the teachings from naming Aztec dieties as Mayan, to showing “ancient writings” in Spanish (the Mayans didn’t speak Spanish, but their own language). It was all a farce created in the late 80′s in Colorado, begun by an archeologist who was thrown out most of South America and all Mayan gatherings because of his “invention”. People traveled to South American and asked about “Munay Ki”, the locals and what is left of the Mayans (there are still some Mayan people), were puzzled…what were these white people talking about. They tried to clear things up, they denounced Villoldo, and still , people plopped down hundreds of dollars to receive “ancient attunements” aka “rites”.

People who are proponents of the rites say “but it has made me feel so much better”, and that is about their only real defense of the “class”. When you are an arden believer in these classes, and want to delve into the NA ways, and after plopping down a pretty substantial amount of cash, of course it made you feel better. All of the people who went to fake mediums in the 1800′s heard from their dearly departed too. There are many psychological reasons why they feel better…none having to do with having ancient Mayan knowledge.

The fact remains it is not a reality, there are no nine ancient rites (unless the 1980′s seem ancient to you), the classes themselves are filled with misinformation that even a basic scholar of NA and Southern American aboriginal studies would know is flawed; you NEVER charge for NA spiritual teachings; and you certainly never charge for entering a sweat lodge.

People want to feel better, they want an answer. Originally this class was held to “ensure” people that they would make the 2012 transition better than others, they would achieve a higher state of being. No one needed this class, or any class to do so.

Do not waste your money on this class. The Native American Indiana Fraud Group has named it as a fraud , and named several of its teachers as frauds. They have also named places that teach it as fraudulent.

People today like to take classes, not just Munay Ki, and call themselves “shaman”. First of all there were no shaman in the continental US. There were medicine men , and others, but Shaman did not exist here. You cannot take a class and become a shaman. Shaman is a position that you have to be born to. You have to have skills and talents beyond normal humans. Knowledge beyond normal humans is necessary, and the tribe must name you as such, you don’t appoint yourself the position.

Everything about this system is wrong. Historically, ethically, linguistically, methodologically, and traditionally. The good news is, I have seen it fading away, so I was surprised to receive an email on the subject. The reason for the email was that a reader was told to go to an event and researched it before he went becasue it didn’t jibe with his knowledge of NA teachings. He was right to trust his gut and not attend the event.

There was a letter on line a few year back that discussed creating the system, but I cannot find a successful link to it anymore (and if I were the people who made this all up, I would destroy that letter also!).

Don’t waste your money, and don’t waste your time.

When I became a reiki master much changed for me. I know that it did change my life. I can tell you an interesting and true fact. I used to have headaches all the times from a couple of different things. I have not had a headache since I became a reiki master…and that was over seven years ago. I had not even thought about it until someone asked about headaches and reiki the other day.

Choose carefully, and remember that when honestly researching a topic, look to see if there are negative reports on it. Put the words after it that will bring up negative reports such as “authenticity” , “issues”, “fraud”, “fake”, etc. You may be surprised at what you find!

Munay ki has nothing to do with the Mayans. It comes from the Q’ero in Peru. The group you list calling it a fraud are all over the net listed as a fraud group…. even the NDN community has issues with them.

      this is the fraud group:

      http://www.newagefraud.org/smf/index.php?topic=1622.0

they are a hate group and will twist everything to suit their own agenda. They never go to the source. Their facts are frequently wrong. Not a group I would rely on for a credible news story. There are other reliable NDN groups out there who do speak truth. This group is not one of them.
