The Amazing Being that is You (The Magician)

The power of Self, and the potential that lies therein. You are sacred, out of the ordinary, yet ordinary. A reflection of all that is heavenly. Is it not stated in the scriptures that we are a reflection of our Source? A mirror image of the creator? You do not need to be be religious or overly spiritual to marvel at how amazing you are. Just by looking at the way you breathe without thought, or the way your body co-operates before you have time to even think what you are doing.

Have you ever witnessed a birth, or thought about how we arrive on this earth? Many take these amazing actualities for granted. These daily miracles that happen. You are part of this. Just stop now for a minute and think about this. Let it sink in. Yes, you, and I – we are miracles.

Looking at images of the Magician card, depicted in various styles by numerous artists, they each have a common thread. Ability, magic, prelude, power, preparation. Something about to occur that is out of the ordinary and sacred. What is ordinary, is not ordinary.

Yes, You yourself are sacred, out of the ordinary. A reflection of all that is heavenly in an earthly form. Within this physical being that is the Self, contains multiple components that together make up the human that you are.

Just as the Magician has the Pentacle, the Wand, the Sword, the Cup and spirit at his disposal, so to do you have all you need at your disposal to be whole. To be completely one. You are the house that is fully equipped for living every day.

This house, this body that is you is the private sanctuary that is yours, and yours alone. You are the director of it through the command centre that is made up of the different components within you including the mind. Imagine that! A personal command centre in which you are in charge, with free will to direct as you see fit.

The moment we understand that each sight, touch, sound, taste, smell and experience we encounter is filtered through our unique system- we might truly grasp the concept of Self. Again, how we choose to experience these things belongs entirely to us.

It is through our personal windows of perception we see the world around us. How we perceive through this window shapes our thoughts and ideas. We then carry these forward to our actions and reactions. Bringing about cause and effect. If our understanding of what we are perceiving is distorted or confused we then may be afraid of what we do not understand. This again follows through with our actions and reactions.

It is imperative that we know our power, our Self, and how to integrate all that is within our house in order to have clarity and to function to the best of our ability. Yes, this free will, the amazing personal vessel that encapsulates all that you are within is magically, symbolically you.

Therefore, as we look at the Magician and how powerful he truly is, we must be at peace with the knowledge that with such power, comes great responsibility.

It is through our journey and lessons in the cards that we can truly see and understand the magnitude of this power. It is through our journey we experience the many components that make us complete and whole that we learn our lessons. How to use this power in such a way that our life has meaning, peace and joy.

For what good is having all the tools if we do not know how to use them? When we discover our Self through the Magician, and come to terms with the power we hold as an individual, this can indeed be a catalyst for the journey to start searching for all the components that lie dormant within our house that will make us whole.

To truly understand who and what we are, how to live a life of total oneness no matter what external factors we encounter is truly amazing. To realise that this body, this mind, this heart, soul and spirit are all completely ours individually alone – all we need to be complete and at peace in this earthly world – then we will truly be the Magician. We will fully understand the meaning of “as above, so below’ and be at one with the infinite universe.
