Dear Rex,

Am very much looking forward to this.

To confirm, we are going to talk about the supernatural/metaphysical aspects of co -writing and making Color Out of Space with Richard Stanley, and you also said you may like to talk about some of the different sacred sites that I went to. 

I am working on a book at the moment, which is a mystical travelogue, detailing my ten year ongoing pilgrimage around France and now, England, so am happy to talk about those sites; most notably the pilgrimage sites I went to which were associated with the White Lady, the Knights Templar, Mary Magdalene, and the Black Madonna; each had which had reports of ‘apparitions’ .. and as we know, a rose by any other name is still a rose..

I also thought we might be able to mention the fact that Ingo says she tends to manifest most prolifically when there is war or difficulty coming, or people most need her help.  

Regarding Color Out of Space; the Color actually communicated with Richard and I, and with a clairvoyant friend of mine called Susan. It came to us in visions and dreams and demanded that we portray it as beautiful… it wanted us to know it was not evil… but rather ‘matter out of place’ and a form of evolution..

In the script, we had written into the scenes with Ezra more information about panspermia theory, which was later cut out – but which states that life via viruses and bacteria from space, fertilises our planet and has always played a giant role  in human evolution.

 In the film, the ‘alien virus’ came on a meteorite… and… just before Covid arrived… a meteorite crashed North of Wuhan… which one of the main proponents of Panspermia theory, thinks could be the true origin of the virus. He states that the reason comets and meteorites were feared throughout history and considered ‘bad stars’ is that pandemics often followed in their wake… 

Color was one of the last films to be screened in the US before the cinemas closed, and it was doing really well. It continues to do well on netflix. The Color also chose the house, and insisted we keep it pink… In the original script, it belonged to Theresa’s character, but I wrote it in to belong to Nathan’s father.. who we decided he did not have a good relationship with… we later found out that the reason the house was used as a film set was because the original owner in the 19th century did not want his only son to inherit it… so somehow I recreated the history of that house before we knew it.. 

The art department were just about to paint the house cream, when I received a phone call from Susan, saying, ‘The Color is communicating with me, it told me to call you and to tell you to tell Richard, not to change the colour of the house, it must remain pink.’ I had not yet joined Richard on the set so did not know any of this; so I called him and he said that they had just put the first strokes of paint on the exterior.. and he immediately told them to stop.. and the house remained pink… He later told the producers what happened… and got into trouble as nobody believed that his psychic partner and her psychic friend, were in communication with the Color.. they thought he was leaking information to me as I had not yet arrived on set and so had not signed a non disclosure agreement.

Then there was what happened when I first met Tommy Chong.. and what he said.. and what happened during shooting the opening ritual and during my last day of shooting on the set… these were very supernatural experiences, with witnesses, and the last day almost led to myself and my driver dying… then almost led to me dying… and likewise filming the opening ritual too many times over and over almost led to Madeleine Arthur, the girl who played Lavinia, dying… She was thrown off a horse and then a tree branch broke off and swung towards both of us… I saw it fortunately and pushed her out of the way… but the spirits were not happy with us.. I went to the woods and made an offering and apologized and it was all ok… but on the last day they were antagonised again, and I could feel it… but it was too busy for me to make an offering, so I just left… well tried to.. myself and my driver ended up driving round and round in circles on the Mountain of the Moon in Sintra in Portugal, which is where the movie was filmed.. which is a very powerful mystical place, where many esotericists and occultists have lived, and which is also home to some very mystical buildings, like the Quinta de Reguila, and close to the Templar city of Tomar…. anyway, we had driven home to our hotel hundreds of times, but this time, she could not get off the mountain… it was night and the sat-nav was going crazy, sending us round and round in circles, and she was disoriented… I realized what was wrong when the car started to go backwards and the back wheels began to go down a ravine, and she began speaking words from the film that she had never read or seen…. saying ‘we are never going to get out of here, we are going to die here.’ This is a woman I have known for 16 years, and who has nerves of steel. So I knew this was not normal… we were trapped in the woods in the dark with no phone reception and the satnav going crazy and my friend panicking and repeating phrases from the film while trying to regain control of the car wheels. I could feel an inexplicable darkness coming towards us, and I prayed to the spirits of the forest with all my might and asked them to help us… and weirdly, I was not afraid, as I somehow knew they would and it would be ok.. and they did, and Josephine regained control and we made it out of the forest and back home.

But… it was not over. She dropped me off at the suite I shared with Richard, which was a cabin at the bottom of 80 stone steps, secluded away in a secret garden of the stately home we stayed in. I climbed up and down those steps many times a day, and yet.. this night, as I went to walk down them, I felt something.. BUT, I won’t tell you everything now, otherwise it won’t be as fun for you to hear for the first time! But.. this was another supernatural incident, which, thankfully, had a happy ending as I am still here.

And there was also the fact that someone from the art department found a sculpture of a mass of alpacas merged all together at a tiny antique shop far from Lisbon…. I have put this picture below. She said to me that before making this film she was not a believer.. but too many strange things happened for her to remain that way… though now she does not know what to believe…

This also brings into question what Lovecraft was really tuning into. I was not familiar with his work until this project, but I always felt intuitively that he was in communication with real beings/entities/etc…and I believe this even more so now. I also felt that the necronomicon was a real magical text… and when I studied it, I saw things in it which were very alike medieval magic..and I feel even more sure of this now. 

So there is actually a lot to discuss just about the movie… and where we filmed it and how it came to get made.. and how magical it all was…On the way home from the shoot we stopped off at the Templar city of Tomar and had a very powerful experience there.. and we got back to Montsegur for the celebrations of the Cathar martyrs on March 16th.. went to the memorial… and when everyone had gone, I went alone into the woods and had a very powerful experience with the White Lady…all of this was in 2019.. and, had Covid not happened, we would be making the rest of the Lovecraft trilogy by now… Dunwich Horror and Call of Cthulu… the scripts are done, but we are waiting for the green light from the financiers, who want a star…

So, it’s late here and I am aware that I am rambling.. but I wanted to give you some background about the movie for the questions you might like to ask. I was sadly not credited for my writing, as the producers said they would and didnt, and Richard couldn’t do anything about it as the option agreements were already signed by the time I was taken on to help; but I was credited as the official ritual witchcraft and occult advisor.. which is also true.
