Economy Ministry: Special training course for English-speaking women in the
ultra-orthodox community to open in Jerusalem on July 1

In the framework of the course, currently in the pilot phase, 20 haredi
women will be trained in “medical coding,” which will provide solutions to
customers including U.S. medical service providers such as hospitals,
medical centers, etc.

The first collaboration of its kind between HRS, a US company, the Ministry
of Economy, the JDC and Temech is expected to integrate haredi women into
high-level salaried positions.

HRS, which does medical record coding that is vital to US medical insurance
companies, provides service to medical centers, hospitals, and clinics. In
recent weeks, it completed the process of recruiting candidates. The course,
to be held at the Jerusalem Technological Training Center, is expected to
run for about eight months, after which approximately 20 haredi women from
Jerusalem and vicinity will be employed at the “premium” level medical
coding service center that will be established in Jerusalem through HRS of
Baltimore.

The course will prepare the participants to correctly identify medical
conditions according to a code that the US hospitals use to obtain payment.

The course requires high-level skills from the participants including
familiarity with medical terminology, understanding of American health
system concepts and fluency in English at a mother-tongue level.

Partners in the promotion and implementation of the initiative include the
US company (investor) HRS, the Foreign Trade Administration at the Ministry
of Economy (through the Washington DC commercial attaché’s office), ‘Invest
in Israel’ the Investment Promotion Center, the Labor Bureau, the Department
of Vocational Training and Workforce Development of Jerusalem, JDC-Israel
(Tzofia), Tevet and Temech.

The opening ceremony of the course will be attended by Economy Minister
Naftali Bennett on Monday, July 1st at 10:00 at the Jerusalem Technological
Training Center (20 Yirmiyahu St.). The event is open to coverage.
