Police confirm arrest of Amos Yee, maker of anti-Lee Kuan Yew YouTube video

SINGAPORE: Amos Yee – the teenager who posted a video on YouTube in which he criticised the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew, as well as made disparaging remarks about Christianity – has been arrested, Channel NewsAsia understands.
The Police on Monday (Mar 30) confirmed the arrest of a 17-year-old male Singaporean.
At least 15 police reports have been lodged against Yee since the video was uploaded on Friday. The video, which spanned 8 minutes 38 seconds, has since been taken down from YouTube.
Channel NewsAsia understands that Yee also subsequently posted obscene drawn graphics to his WordPress blog and Facebook page, which were later taken down. His WordPress blog has since been made private.
