Convicted killer Stuart Horner has spent the night on the roof of a high security Manchester prison in apparent protest over prison conditions.
Horner, 35, scaled the walls of the Strangeways prison wearing a pair brightly colored jogging trousers on Sunday around 2pm BST. Footage shows the convict smashing rooftop windows as police officers try to talk him down. He later removed his trousers and traipsed along the edge of the roof in only his underpants.

Horner complained about prison conditions and pledged to stay on the roof for “40 days and nights.”
Fellow inmates remain on lockdown as the standoff continues.
He was jailed in 2012 for the murder of his uncle, Ian Taylor. Horner shot Taylor in the chest with a shotgun following a family feud.
Police confirmed prison staff called for assistance in dealing with the “one-man protest” on Sunday afternoon. Several surrounding roads have been closed.
In an interview with the Manchester Evening News, an unnamed former prisoner criticized conditions at Strangeways.
“The treatment of prisoners is inhumane and disgraceful with many of the wings locked down for 23 hours with little or no exercise. The prison officers used to say they simply didn’t have the numbers to control us. I strongly believe there will be riots,” he said.
