Istanbul – “Israel is the source of all evils in the region,” Hamas Chief
Khaled Mishaal said Sunday evening.
Addressing a mass rally in the Turkish metropolitan city of Istanbul,
Mishaal said Israel is involved in all “projects of sabotage” in the region.
“As long as Palestine is grappling with the occupation and offensives, the
nation’s wounds will never be healed,” Mishaal stated.
“Do not forget Palestine—the nation’s heart. Palestine is the mother of all
causes and crises,” the head of Hamas political bureau added.
He expressed hope that the nation would join forces and rise above all
ethnic and sectarian polarization.
“The Palestinian resistance targets no other party but Israel. Our only
enemy is the Israeli occupation”
He spoke out against Israel’s Judaization schemes and illegal settlement
activity in Occupied Jerusalem.
He further warned of Israel’s intent to divide the holy al-Aqsa Mosque
between Muslims and Jews in an attempt to hold sway over the entire mosque.
Mishaal hailed the peaceful Muslim sit-inners who have stood on their ground
to the Israeli aggressions and sacrilegious break-ins at the al-Aqsa Mosque.
Commenting on the situation in the blockaded Gaza Strip, Mishaal attributed
the tough Israeli siege to Hamas’s prolific resistance arsenal and
Palestinians’ unyielding support for armed resistance as the only means to
oust the Israeli colonizers.
The Hamas Chief lauded the anti-settlement resolution recently approved at
the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
He dubbed the move a step in the right direction and a goal scored in favor
of the Palestinians.
Mishaal hailed all the parties who have stood by the Palestinian people and
expressed outspoken condemnation of Israel’s illegal settlement activity.
“Israel has become a heavy burden on the shoulders of international politics
and on regional and international peace,” the Hamas leader noted.
“We dream of a land free of the Israeli occupation and settlement,” said
Mishaal. “We dream of a land devoid of invaders. We look out for an
international support for the legitimate Palestinian resistance.”
