The American-Egyptian Relations, Restart or New Era? Ahmed Hany Hassanain

Lyndon Jonson and Barak Obama were the two men that destroyed the American-Egyptian relation to unprecedented degree. After 1973 war the US, Egypt and Israel agreed that it should be the last large scale war in the Middle East and development of the region will ensure peaceful cooperation between countries of the region. However it never happened that the formula had been fulfilled to the end. The only successful objects that the formula achieved was peace between Egypt and Israel that both countries were very keen to maintain. And strategic alliance between Israel and the US on one hand and between Egypt and the US on the other hand that were contradictory in many situations.

Barak Obama gave a speech in Cairo University and then his administration conspired against Egypt and the Middle East and destroyed the area and even created and supported ISIS. It was clear that he wanted to divide the countries of the zone to balkanize it. His aims were many not only against Egypt but also against the world.

The first question is; did Barak Obama do that as an American Strategy or it was his own vision to spread chaos in the Middle East? In fact the Pax-Americana strategy was devised by George Bush the father and all his followers executed this strategy. However the failure of this strategy needed revision and no one can tell now if the revision will lead to strategic changes or just tactic changes. The clash between the Egyptian vision and the American vision was strategic. The Egyptian refused further divisions of the countries of the region while the Americans insisted on it. And the Egyptian refused the use of Islamic terrorism as a tools to spread chaos while the Americas used it under the Turkish auspice with the Qatari financial support.

The second question is; will Trump win his internal battle against Soros and Murdoch who were behind Hilary Clinton for the New World Order. Both rivals have the enough money for the battle but Trump fights against the media that is mainly run by Murdoch.

The third question is; which rival will the decision making centers and security bodies side on? The answer to this question depends on the choice of these bodies to do strategic change or just tactical change. Trump chose men for the key posts who believe in his vision and apparently he will fight an internal unmerciful war to put America on the old track before Pax-Americana that tarnished the American face and inflicted strategic losses.

For the American-Egyptian relation the fight against terrorism and the brotherhood is a good step however the changes in Egypt after the Egyptian Russian alliance may not make Egypt agree to all the American needs in the region. Until now Trump’s vision to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is not clear and this is one of the key subjects that affects the national security of Egypt. The American military aid may take other dimensions but it does not mean that Egypt will leave its multi-sources policy of armament.

The most important strategic question is; what is after Trump? The improvement of the American-Egyptian relation will be temporary if Trump failed to make big strategic changes in the thinking of decision making centers. Exposing the Hilary’s conspiracies and crimes against the countries of the Middle East may be one of the signs of the big change. If Trump failed to win his internal battle most probably the new improvement will be just phasic as a restart of a PC the work temporary while the virus destroying its programs. This strategic relation needs a new software or at least anti-Hilary virus program that kill the virus totally. The American-Egyptian relation is like a sick man in the ICU who has fifty/fifty chance to live if the proper management and medications are given. Whether the Trump-Sisi team can save the patient, it is up to Trump to win his country’s policies or not.
